OFFICIAL PRESS STATEMENT
Public Clarification

Following several calls, messages, and inquiries from leaders, partners, and members of the public regarding an event being circulated online as the “Jamhuri Kenya Leadership Awards” scheduled to take place at Swiss Lenana Mount Hotel, we wish to clarify the following:

The Jamhuri Kenya Awards Organization would like to clearly state that this event is not our program and we are not associated with it in any way.

For the record, Benson Munene and Favoured Gakii are no longer part of the Jamhuri Kenya Awards team. Their working relationship with our organization ended last year after the successful 5th Edition of the Jamhuri Kenya Awards held at Argyle Grand Hotel. Since then, they have not been involved in any activities, programs, or operations of Jamhuri Kenya Awards.

Due to the ongoing online discussions and tags on social media, we felt it was important to issue this clarification to avoid any further confusion among our partners, leaders, sponsors, and supporters who continue to engage with our brand.

Jamhuri Kenya Awards remains an independent platform committed to celebrating leadership, culture, innovation, and excellence in Kenya through credible and professionally organized programs.

We therefore encourage the public and stakeholders to treat any event associated with the above-mentioned individuals as separate and not linked to Jamhuri Kenya Awards.

For official updates and information about our programs, we encourage the public to follow our verified communication channels and official announcements.

COUNTY DEPARTMENT IMPACT CONVERSATION – CELEBRATING DEVOLUTION IN ACTION

The 2010 Constitution of Kenya ushered in a transformative era through Devolution, empowering the 47 Counties to drive development closer to the people.

In every county, County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) lead key departments from Health, Transport, Agriculture, Education, Water, Trade, Youth, Gender, and beyond shaping the daily lives of wananchi through policy, service delivery, and innovation.

Today, we want to start a serious conversation.

In your county:

Which department do you believe is making the greatest impact?

Which CECM has demonstrated exceptional leadership, transparency, innovation, and service delivery?

Where have you seen real transformation that deserves national recognition?

We are keenly taking note of counties and departments that are truly delivering on the promise of devolution.

Outstanding performance in county leadership should not go unnoticed.
It should be celebrated. Recognized. Honored.

Join us in highlighting the departments and leaders who are turning devolution into real impact.

Your voice matters. Your county matters.

Farewell to Craig A Gentle Giant and Famous Super Tusker

The Amboseli National Park in Kenya, and the whole world, lost a very special elephant. Craig, the famous super tusker known for his huge tusks and calm nature, passed away at the age of 54.

Craig was born in January 1972 to a famous elephant family and lived a rare and long life. He was one of the last super tuskers in Africa elephants with tusks weighing over 45 kilograms (100 lbs) each. Only a few remain today, making Craig very special.

He had many calves, passing on his strong and gentle nature to the next generations.

People loved Craig not just for his big tusks but also for his peaceful behavior. He was patient with visitors and became a symbol of Amboseli National Park and wildlife conservation.

In 2021, Craig was adopted by East African Breweries Limited through their Tusker brand, showing how much he was loved worldwide. His long life was thanks to the Kenya Wildlife Service, local communities, and partners who protected him for many years.

Thanks to their efforts, Craig lived safely and freely, showing us all the power of working together to protect wildlife.
