Today's Reading is also another interesting one.

God see's Joshua as old at this time and also See's the land to be won remaining to be large.

God doesn't instruct Joshua to go fight at this point, he says He will by himself drive out those remaining 5 rulers and the only thing to be done at this point by Joshua was to Divide it according to the instructions given by God through Moses.

I also see Caleb coming to remind Joshua of the promise that God had given him 45 years back about his inheritance. He is given that land to drive out the inhabitants and to inherit it for him and his generation

From today's reading I see how God is considerate and powerful.
He would have instructed them to go fight but this time, he only instructs them to subdivide the inheritance and he will fight for them.

God cares for his people, and is also faithful to keep his promises.

God can rescue us and can still fight for us without us going to the battle field.

I pray that God anifightie tu manze kwanza zile battles zenye ata sioni ama zenye naona ni too big to win. Na zenye pia nafight, naomba afight na Mimi na anipee nguvu ya kushinda.

Today's Reading seems like a movie 😅

Joshua seems ruthless yawa! It's not his fault though, he was doing what was needed for him to get what was promised to the Israelites.

Something interesting happens and I think this has to do with discernment,
The leaders are deceived into making a covenant with people they should have destroyed and then they realize the deception after the covenant has been made. I love that they honoured the covenant because they had sword with the name of the LORD.

The other battles are pretty interesting, kings come together so that they can come against Joshua but they all end up dying together.

Three times more than 15 kings have joined forces but God gives them into the hand of Israelites for destruction.

God sends hail to fall on the fleeing kings and peoples. God in action!
He also stops the sun for an entire day so that Israelites could win their battle.

It is just amazing to see how God can fight for us when we become obedient to him.

I love that Joshua always went to God before any battle and God was faithful to see him through it.
Great lessons I learn through today's reflections and yoooh! I want to be on the Lord's side

Today's reflections are interesting

1. Discernment
The Angel of the Lord appears and Joshua asks who's side the angel is on and on realizing he is the angel of the Lord, He honors him and from that he receives instructions on the wall of Jericho defeat and what to do.

2. Obedience
They followed the instructions of the Lord for them to get the victory over Jericho and Ai.

3. Disobedience
When Achan disobeyed instructions, it led to Israel losing 3000 people. One man's disobedience brought destruction on many people.
When Joshua comes to God to ask why the defeat, God reveals the sin that has been committed against God and once they deal with the sin, victory comes to the people of Israel

4. Faithfulness
When Israelites obeyed God, God was faithful to keep his promises to them.

‎Day 53 Reflections
‎
‎Today's reading is quite interesting.
‎Aaron and Miriam start question if God has spoken to Moses. The reason was because Moses had married a Cush*te woman.
‎
‎The Lord's anger was against Aaron and Miriam and he stuck Miriam with Leprosy. This shows how dangerous it can be to question word from God. I see how it should lead us to give respect to people who have been called by God.
‎
‎I love how God describes Moses and I pray this becomes my heart as well. He says that Moses is the most meek person there and faithful to Him. God highlights this as reasons why He speaks to Moses mouth to mouth while speaking to others through visions and dreams.
‎
‎When Moses Prayed for Mirriam, she still had to go through the 7 days period of isolation outside the camp like the rules others had when they were leprous. Moses wanted his sister to get healed right away but God allowed her to go through the isolation and pain of the Leprosy.
‎
‎I still admire Moses's heart when He is praying for his sister even after she questioned Moses's relationship with God. I want this heart when I am wronged with someone close to me or anyone really because my first thought is that person should be struck down or if coincidentally they go through a rough time, I see it as a hurray, now God has payed for me. I hope that I will be quick to pray for them rather than see it as a deserved punishment or time

‎Day 52 Reflections
‎
‎Today's reading is about other laws and also how to handle them. I see the punishment against Adultery being more immediate and also very severe.
‎That even if the Man was just jealous of the wife and thought of her as Adultery, he would take her to the priest and she would make a curse vow and if she was guilty, she would instantly face the consequences of the curse.
‎
‎There is also a rule for someone who has set themselves apart for the Lord. A rule against what they should eat, drink and even do for the time the person has set themselves apart for God.
‎
‎I always love when God is speaking of to people and this time, God is asking Moses to pray for blessings for the people from God and this time he shows Moses the exact words to use as a blessing and the words turn out to be among my favorite songs (The Blessings Song)
‎
‎Jethro comes and gives Moses wisdom on how to handle cases and this is a good way not just for mentorship and succession but also to do more work efficiently
‎
‎I am curious to know how things unfold from this chapter to the next so find out with me in tomorrow's reading

‎Day 51 Reflections
‎
‎Today's reading is about sacrifice and how to handle it. We see two of Aaron's son dying for offering an unauthorized fire before the Lord.
‎
‎I don't think their intention was wrong, their approach however was unauthorized.
‎I think they died because of their disobedience. Maybe they had forgotten the procedure or maybe they just assumed that because they had offered a sin offering then it would have been okay.
‎
‎From this, I see it as a warning of not taking God's grace and presence for granted. That we should not commit sin just because we have come from repentance or because we have been called to serve God's people. His presence should guide us more to fear and obedience even in service.
‎
‎After that, God instructs Aaron not to go to the Holy Place until he brings a bull as a sin offering for himself and the people and also a goat for cleaning the holy place.
‎
‎From today's reading, I see how valuable Holiness is and how we need to follow and obey God at his word lest his anger consumes us or his presence departs from us.
