Justice for Kayole 1 social hall

Yesterday, Twaweza CBO stood in solidarity with the youths of Kayole at the Milimani Law Courts, following up on the ongoing case surrounding the Kayole Social Hall, a facility that community members allege was irregularly taken over by a private individual.

As an organisation grounded in social justice, public accountability, and community empowerment, Twaweza recognizes the critical role this social hall has played for decades. It has been a center for youth development, community dialogue, mentorship, cultural expression, and a safe meeting space for countless residents.

The adjournment of the matter to next year will not deter our commitment. We remain steadfast in amplifying the community’s voice, defending public amenities, and ensuring that spaces meant for the people remain in the hands of the people.

Twaweza CBO will continue to champion justice, transparency, and the protection of communal resources in Kayole and beyond. The struggle for fairness and just use of public spaces is far from over, and together, we will keep pushing.
