Kenyan photographer and National Geographic Explorer Ochieng Onyango has won the 2026 Living with Wildlife Photography Competition, organized by Jamma Conservation & Communities, with his striking photograph captured at Lake Jipe in Taita Taveta County. The image highlights the everyday coexistence between local communities and elephants along the Kenya-Tanzania border. As part of the award, Onyango also nominated the Eco-Jipe Program to receive a $500 award for its community-led conservation work protecting the Lake Jipe ecosystem.
