Landscape design is doing the quiet work here 🌿

This space isn’t large—but the planting strategy makes it feel layered, alive, and constantly changing. Instead of treating greenery as decoration, it was used as the main design driver—shaping movement, softening structure, and creating moments of pause.

What makes it work:
• Layering at different heights – ground covers, mid-level foliage, and vertical climbers create depth in a compact space
• Softening built edges – planters and trailing greens break the rigidity of walls and metal screens
• Framing and screening – planting works with the structure to guide views and enhance privacy
• Texture over quantity – a mix of leaf sizes and forms adds richness without overcrowding

The result is a space that feels intimate, breathable, and intentional—proving that even the smallest landscapes can have a strong presence when designed thoughtfully.

Entrance design is more than just access—it’s the first conversation a space has with you 🚪🌿

In this project, the entry sequence was treated as an experience, not just a doorway. From the moment you approach, layers begin to unfold—screens that reveal and conceal, planting that softens boundaries, and a clear path that gently guides you inward.

Key ideas that shaped this entrance:
• Thresholds matter – stepping down into the space creates a subtle sense of arrival
• Controlled visibility – partial screening balances privacy and openness
• Framing the journey – every turn offers a new view, making the entrance feel dynamic
• Material continuity – consistent textures ground the experience and tie everything together

A well-designed entrance sets the tone for everything beyond it. It builds anticipation, offers comfort, and quietly communicates identity.

First impressions matter—and this entrance tells a story 🌿✨

What was once just a passage is now a layered, immersive arrival space. The interplay of textures—from natural stone underfoot to the bold metal framework—creates a strong architectural identity, while the planting softens and humanizes the experience.

A few intentional moves made all the difference:
• Framing views with screens instead of solid walls
• Using planting to guide movement and create pause points
• Blending structure and nature for a balanced feel

A small space, thoughtfully designed 🌿

This entry courtyard transforms a simple transition zone into a vibrant, welcoming experience. Layered planting, custom metal screens, and natural stone paving come together to create both privacy and beauty—without overwhelming the space.

The goal was simple:
✔️ Soften hard edges with greenery
✔️ Create depth through vertical planting
✔️ Maintain security while enhancing aesthetics
✔️ Make every arrival feel intentional

Good design isn’t about size—it’s about how a space makes you feel the moment you step into it.

Imagine this, you are having a wonderful dining experience at a good hotel, but then it reaches the time that you have to refresh yourself at the hotel's washrooms. But alas, you are met with a dingy room with barely no windows or natural light, a sink that has barely seen a cleaning detergent, and a tap that coughs water like someone who has whooping cough. I am sure that even if the food was that good, you probably would not think about going to that hotel unless you did not have an option. That's where good design comes in; it is like salt, without it, you will always feel like something is amiss. I went to the Asyana Gardens over the weekend, and it was a 10/10 experience. The food, ambience, and facilities were good, especially the washrooms. One thing to consider as a designer is the importance of having a view outside; it's a real game-changer.

Strolling along the streets of Threads, I bumped on a post on millenial kitchens ( white and grey). I am guilty as much as I am an architectural designer, my house is sadly white and grey 😅😅. But I have been thinking of redesigning it for a while starting with the kitchen. I am not yet sure of what the theme would be but I know it would something that is savanna style, with a touch of retro and vintage with of course lot of pops of color.
