Joe Tracz serves as the showrunner for this season, following Matt Owens’s departure for personal reasons, and Eiichiro Oda remains creatively involved.
Chopper represents a pivotal visual payoff for fans—his design does not pursue ultra-realism but balances expressiveness with well-detailed CGI, emphasizing emotional charm over realism. Hoover reportedly contributed both voice acting and facial motion capture to bring humanity to the character. The move to CGI was chosen over prosthetics or practical effects to allow for dynamic movement and nuanced facial expression.
Netflix has officially confirmed that One Piece live action Season 2 is scheduled to debut in 2026
