PART 2.
School selection and placement.
Your chances of getting your first choice of C1 depend on, KJSEA 60%, SBA and projects 40%,
Subject combination, and Geographical location.
C1 will select on basis of two students per sub county..this should show you how it's rather obvious to select further from your HOME county..if you're from Muranga County, you have better chances at Kabianga than Muranga high..does it make sense? Also, the portal is systematic. You can only pick 3 from your home county from the choice of 9 schools..Don't waste all your C1 chances on your home county, the system will drop you to C2..
Total points will again determine your Best scores for each subject combination. A student with EE1 in languages, pre tech and ME2 in sciences or Maths is better placed in Social sciences and may get a C1..but if such a student insists on STEM, with the same points, it could land them in C3..
Remember, if your pathway is STEM, the subject combinations that make up stem in your KJSEA and SBA will guide your average mean and that's what the system uses for placement..
In short 56 points in STEM with weak points in sciences can land you in C3 while the same points if high in languages can land you in Social science in C2 or C1...are we together?
Arts students got better placement because of low competitive edge on Pathways, better average points on the subjects combination that made up Art etc.
You're being placed according to your combination..and if you're too many in one, elimination method applies based on average mean, geographical location and pathway.
