Earlier today, we united with purpose and passion, joining forces with key stakeholders like Youth for Sustainable Development , Kenya Forest Service and Greening machakos youth network to celebrate Community Action Day.

Community Action Day is a deliberate program spearheaded by Youth for Sustainable Development mentees and the community. Today's activities focused on climate change actions, where mentees participated in valuable sessions and climate change talk with mentors and later planted 44 tree seedlings at Machakos County Scouts Centre to commemorate the day.We take pride in supporting communities and hosting diverse groups to foster mutual goals and substantive collaborations.

Great partnerships thrive on mutual trust, shared goals, and complementary strengths, creating a synergy that drives success beyond individual capabilities.

Today we hosted Tuboreshe Pamoja in an activity whose objective was to champion the involvement of people with disabilities in .This activity is as a result of the good work done at the centre by the Machakos abled different self help group in Muvuti /Kiima Kimwe Ward . It's crucial to involve them for these reasons; Inclusive, Vulnerability to Climate Change, Human Rights, and Equity, Enhanced Resilience, Innovative Solutions, Legislative and Policy Requirements especially with the many international agreements and national laws.

At KENYA SCOUTS ASSOCIATION we are intentional in ensuring the active involvement of people with disabilities in our activities more so when it comes to climate actions.This activity provided us the opportunity to Network with other team players and discuss future action plans to foster our mutual goals.Thank you to this great future partners Gelian Hotel Machakos Machakos and Semara Hotels which was represented by the General Manager Fred Nyagwe for providing beddings, and National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities for getting the seedlings to plant Harriet Mueni for your kind donation to the group. Thank you Kelvin Opondo Machakos County Deputy Warden of Kenya Wildlife Service for pledging support to our scout centre and for the community awareness and education you provided.

Happy World Environment Day, Fellow Scouts!

Today, we celebrate World Environment Day, a reminder of the critical role we play in preserving our planet. As scouts, we are leaders in our communities and stewards of the environment. Our actions, no matter how small, can make a significant impact.

You can stay true to your conservation call by:

1. Planting a Tree: Organize a tree-planting event in your community. Every tree we plant helps combat climate change.
2. Cleaning Up Your Neighborhood: Gather your fellow scouts for a community clean-up. Removing litter not only beautifies our surroundings but also protects wildlife.
3. Reducing, Reusing, Recycling: Commit to reducing waste by recycling and reusing items. Spread awareness about the importance of sustainable living.
4. Educating Others: Share information about environmental issues with friends and family. Knowledge is power, and together we can inspire more people to join our cause.

As a scout centre we endeavour to contribute in supporting our to address challenges they face in this 21st century.When scouts come for camping, we do not only host them,we suppliment the scout program by offering brief experiential sessions on request.

The scout movement is very intentional in equipping our personel with relevant knowledge, skills and attitude of Altitude to be able to offer professional support to campers.Currently, Our Camp Warden Mr Erick Masaba Onyango is representing the KENYA SCOUTS ASSOCIATION, Machakos County Scouts Centre in at a youth capacity building program organized by Youth for Sustainable Development and attended by various youth organizations.

This opportunity fosters potential future collaborations, and it's a privilege to engage with other vibrant organizations in our shared vision of .In the meantime plan for a camp with your scouts.
