“I Am She — Daughter of the Banyala”
I am she, who walks with grace,
Tall as the trees, rooted in place.
Chocolate skin, kissed by light,
A woman of power, bold in her right.
From the heart of Luhya land I rise,
Where ancestors dance beneath our skies.
Banyala flows in every vein,
Strength in my laughter, pride in my name.
I am not just beauty — I am flame,
I am the echo of a sacred name.
Not meant to chase, not made to beg,
I move like rivers, steady, leg by leg.
Let no debt, no slight, no lie
Dim the fire in my eye.
I’ve seen storms and still I shine,
A daughter of warriors — fierce, divine.
They may withhold what I am due,
But they cannot unmake what is true.
I was born of queens, and earth, and drum,
And my reckoning — it will come.
