Creativity is the freest form of self expression. ... The ability to be creative, to create something from personal feelings and experiences can reflect and nurture children's emotional health. The experiences children have in their first year's of life can significantly enhance the development of their creativity and ability to grow both physically and mentally. That is why at Creative Kids Academy, Zingira provide this noble space to allow young growing kids to explore and realize worth and capability as they grow to be responsible persons in the society.

Kids academy and seed in a box

An introductory course at Zingira with Braeburn international school. Trying to combine seed in a box with kids academy.
Today's course was making seed paper, which they will then go to school with to germinate.
The next course would be making a box where they will transfer the seedling once germinated for transplanting.
This is to avoid using plastic bags which is the common norm

The crafts club is on, Apollo mentoring Paulette - kisumu young environmentalist at the craft academy in readiness for KCB Lion's Den.

For a couple of weeks ago we had a workshop with kids! Children from Future Hope in Obunga visited us and they learned how to make water hyacinth rope, necklaces made by paper beads and also, what a Jua kali is and how to recycle materials to create something new. The workshop was a great success!

Karibu! Welcome to our page for the youth academy where children get the opportunity to learn craft, improve their creativity and also get a meaningful free time. The academy is founded by Zingira Community Craft in Kisumu. Some of you have found us through the public exhibition at Kenyatta Sports Ground the 13/4 and also, all other are warmly welcome. The last couple of weeks we have had workshops with children to test our concept and create an academy that is both educating and fun.
