The world runs on the labor of working-class women.
Women who weave, grow, build, organize, and care.
Today we don’t celebrate “empowerment.”
We recognize the women whose work has always held communities together.
The women who weave fiber into livelihoods.
Knowledge into systems.
Care into resistance.
At Vinya Weaving Lab, we honor the women whose hands sustain traditions, economies, and futures.
International Day of Marching Working Class Women.
Because the thread that holds the world together is still in their hands.
ĨTILI YĨ MŨSYĨ ĨYAA KYA OVA
My grandma’s favorite quote translating to;
“A thread that is at home will never lack something to hold together.”
It expresses the idea that when you stay rooted in your place, community, and responsibilities, you will always find purpose and connection.
It reflects:
• care
• belonging
• continuity
• responsibility to what surrounds you
To the women of this world, we see you and we weave for you.
