「越後妻有大地藝術祭–香港部屋」邀請本地創意人才在日本越後妻有地域津南町建立屬於香港的藝術部屋，以當地風土民情和大自然豐富的物產資源進行創作，用藝術連結兩地的人文風景。部屋將會展示香港藝術家的作品，同時亦會在屋內和附近社區進行各類型的活動、工作坊和表演等。

越後妻有大地藝術祭是三年一度全球大型的國際戶外藝術節之一，以農田作為舞台，藝術作為橋樑，希望透過創作、欣賞和參與藝術作品和活動將城市人與大自然重新結連。

The "Hong Kong House at Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale" is a project that invites local creative talents to submit proposals in building up an art hub for Hong Kong located in Tsunan Town of the Echigo-Tsumari region, Japan, which aims to connect people and culture of both places through arts. Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale is one of the largest international outdoor art festivals in the world and is held once every three years in the Echigo-Tsumari region. Using art as a catalyst, the Triennale provides a platform to present projects and initiatives which aim to reveal existing assets of the region and rebuild the relationship between human and nature through artistic creation, appreciation, and participation.

【枯草絮語🌿】

香港藝術家余美玲以在地生長的山野草為素材，在香港部屋編織出草木裝置。枯草穿梭麻繩環繞着鐵閘及窗邊，讓人聯想起城市街角石縫間綻放的小草花，藉此隱喻石屎森林中都市人柔韌的生命力。🌱

此外，漫步展場，你會發現由枯草與碎布交織成一塊獨特的再生紡織布，當中還有隱藏的布藝小花悄然綻放。🌺

這些作品賦予廢材全新美感，傳遞惜物與資源循環再生的理念。

【Whispers from Dried Grasses🌿】

Hong Kong artist Mire Yu has weaved locally grown wild grasses into botanical installations in Hong Kong House. Dried grasses woven and wrapped around iron gates and window frames, call to mind the delicate wildflowers that push through cracks in city pavements. This imagery symbolises the resilience of city dwellers in this concrete jungle. �

As you wander through the exhibition, you’ll also notice that the dried grasses are interwoven with fabric scraps, forming a unique piece of upcycled textile art with small hidden fabric blooms quietly blossoming within it. 🌺

These works give discarded materials a new aesthetic and convey a message about cherishing resources and embracing circular renewal.

香港藝術家林蔚彥收集四十九則香港與津南的故事，以刺繡裝置承載跨地域動人回憶。

💖茶餐廳侍應恤衫：茶餐廳不單是結合中西飲食文化的用餐場所，更是代表香港日常生活的重要符號。恤衫上繡有十四個盛載着香港城市溫度的集體記憶。

✨津南浴衣：以森口正昭先生的祖母於盂蘭盆舞時穿過的笹葉浴衣爲載體，鋪陳三十五個津南故事的繡品，寄託着祝福，亦承載了社區情誼。

兩件衣物以藍染絲麻相連，飾以津南標誌性的雪花圖案刺繡，串連兩地故事。

【Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng Waiter’s Shirt☀ × Tsunan Yukata🎋: Bearing Forty-nine Memories】

Hong Kong artist Toby Crispy collected forty-nine stories from Hong Kong and Tsunan, interweaving moving memories across borders through embroidery installation.

💖Cha Chaan TengWaiter’s Shirt: Cha chaan tengs are more than just eateries that blend Chinese and Western food culture; they also represent an important aspect of daily life in Hong Kong. Embroidered on the shirt are fourteen collective memories filled with the warmth of the city.

✨Tsunan Yukata: Using a bamboo-leaf yukata worn by Mr. Masaaki’s grandmother during the Bon Odori festival as its canvas, this piece showcases embroidery depicting thirty-five local stories of Tsunan—conveying heartfelt blessings and the warmth of community ties.

The two garments are connected by an indigo-dyed linen cloth, adorned with Tsunan’s iconic snowflake embroidery, weaving together the stories of both places.

2026年「越後妻有大地藝術祭 — 香港部屋」參展香港藝術家林蔚彦及余美玲，以《艹 田 人 STiTCH OUR iNNER LAND》為題，走訪香港與津南，收集四十九則關於土地、記憶與生活的真實故事。

「艹」音「草」，為草花部首；「田」是土地，「人」代表人們。

字形如針步，喻意以人人做針黹，連結人與自然。她們以刺繡串連集體回憶，以草木裝置承載自然氣息，編織出一段跨越地域的對話。🌿

【🌾 Toby Crispy & Mire Yu: Weaving Stories of “Home” Between Two Places🌾】

🏠 What kind of landscape, objects, and human connections does your “home” have?

The Hong Kong artists participating in Hong Kong House at Echigo-Tsumari Art Field 2026, Toby Crispy and Mire Yu, have created an exhibition titled 艹 田 人 STiTCH OUR iNNER LAND. They travelled between Hong Kong and Tsunan, gathering forty-nine stories about land, memories and daily life.

“艹” is the radical for grass and plants, “田” represents land, and “人” signifies people.

Together, their forms resemble stitches — a metaphor for inviting everyone to reconnect humans and nature through the practice of slow-stitching. They use embroidery to connect collective memories and botanical installations to carry the essence of nature, weaving a dialogue that transcends geographical boundaries. 🌿
