With the launch of our newly designed website (mokuhanga.org), we are excited to announce our online exhibition series! The first online exhibition, “Geographies of Light,” is guest-curated by André Zadorozny (Andre Zadorozny ) mokuhanga printmaker and the host of the podcast “The Unfinished Print”!

Here are just a few selections, but you can visit our website (Link in bio) to see the complete online exhibition!

Exhibition Statement: We come from all over the world. Mokuhanga printmakers translate place through their work — carrying the essence of where they live into every element of the craft. Through the prints we make, we speak of our lives, our localities, the places we call home. Light expresses itself differently wherever you are. Whether in Toronto or Tokyo, it diffuses on its own terms, shaping how we see and how we work. Geography and light brings mokuhanga printmakers together to explore this relationship — how surroundings inform a print, and how light, particular to each place, becomes a language of its own.
