Blue snake 🐍

I used Canson Heritage Hot Pressed paper for this piece.

I began by creating a base layer with Kissho Gansai paints, then added colour and shimmer using my own handmade metallic paints.

For the finishing touch, I used a Sunago set I purchased from Pigment Tokyo several years ago to apply imitation gold leaf, adding a delicate, sparkling texture to the piece.

I’m especially grateful to PIGMENT TOKYO ピグモントーキョー , as it was through a workshop I attended there last summer that I learned how to make my own watercolour paints. Being able to incorporate paints I made myself into my artwork has made this piece feel even more special to me.

I’ll be leading a Japanese ink wash painting workshop on August 29 Independent Art and Gift Gallery | Art & Craft Studios .

yesterday, with the help of my artist fiends, l held a
trial run of the Kintsugi workshop that I’ll be offering next month.
The session helped me identify several areas for improvement-such as refining certain explanations and adjusting parts of the process to make the workshop even better. We also repaired two pots that were brought in for the practice session.
In addition to making earrings, participants will also be able to create brooches.
Preparations are progressing steadily, and I’m excited to share this experience with you😊I hope you’ll take this opportunity to join us. Details can be found below.

I’d like to share some very exciting news with you.

On July 4th and August 29th, I’ll be hosting art workshops at the stylish art studio .studio in Petersfield.

On July 4th, I’ll be running a workshop on creating kintsugi earrings using the kintsugi technique, and on August 29th, I’ll be holding a beginner-friendly Japanese ink wash workshop. Please see below for reservations and more details.

In these workshops, I don’t want participants to simply make or paint something — I also hope they can experience Japanese aesthetics and art philosophy.

Hosting workshops related to Japanese art is something I’ve always wanted to do, so I’m really looking forward to it.

If you’re interested in Japanese art and have the time, I’d love for you to join us.
