清川あさみ 「Today is a new day!」2023
この度MAKI Editionsは、清川あさみのMAKI Galleryでの初個展に併せてRICOH / StareReapとのコラボレーションにより3種類のエディション作品をリリースいたします。 清川による雑誌カバーに刺繍を施した作品をもとに、PET（ペットボトルと同素材）の両面にUVインク ジェットプリントを行うという新しい試みをしています。 背面から印刷することにより、PETの透明膜が艶出し効果を演出し、UVインクジェットプリントでは表現 が難しい仕上げを実現しています。 表面は、清川とStareReapのプリンティングディレクターとの対話で2.5D（凹凸）モデリングを作りあげ、 UVインクジェットの層を幾つも重ねることで、刺繍部分の精緻な凹凸・テクスチャーを表現。エディション 8という小ロットで販売いたします。
「StareReap」は、アートを身近に感じることができる文化を提案する新たなアートブランドです。サイズ ／色調／質感／凹凸などを精密に、そして自由にプリントできるリコー独自のインクジェット技術を活用した リアルな表現が、「StareReap」の作品群の特徴です。

To commemorate Asami Kiyokawa’s first solo exhibition with MAKI Gallery, MAKI Editions is pleased to announce the release of three limited-edition prints in collaboration with RICOH StareReap. Based on Kiyokawa’s embroidered magazine cover works, the editions use a new technique in which PET board (the same material used in plastic bottles) is UV inkjet-printed on both sides. By printing from the back, the PET’s transparent surface allows for a glossy finish that is difficult to achieve through traditional inkjet printing techniques. Kiyokawa worked with StareReap’s Printing Director to create a 2.5D (textured) model of her works. Multiple layers of UV inkjet pigment were then applied according to the model, accurately recreating the intricate, uneven surface of the original embroidery. Each print will be released in an extremely limited edition size of 8.
StareReap is an artistic endeavor by RICOH that explores new creative methods using 2.5D (textured) modeling and UV inkjet printing. It achieves a realistic expression through RICOH's unique inkjet technology, which enables the precise and versatile reproduction of any size, color, and texture.
