After ten years and two children, this bond has evolved into something profound. It is a deeply rooted love that only time can cultivate!

There is a quiet elegance in the way this couple caught the light against Tokyo’s timeless architecture.

For this session, the sun gave us everything we needed and it really was such a perfect session!

The best part? They returned to see me eight months later for a session under the sakura! 🌸

It’s such an honor to document these different chapters of their journey in Japan. I can’t wait to show you the magic we captured among the cherry blossoms.

The ultimate Japan trifecta: A surprise proposal, Mt. Fuji, and full bloom sakura. 🌸🗻

Actually, let's make that a four-part masterpiece, because we also got a stunning daffodils on top of the perfect cherry blossoms and Fuji!

If you shoot here, you know how incredibly rare it is to actually get all of these elements at once.

With rain forecasted for our original date, we made a game-time decision. I hopped on the Fuji Excursion train straight from my 6am shoot, rushed over in an Uber, and we chased the light.

The forecast was wrong in the best way possible. We got a brilliantly clear day, and the resulting photos are so cinematic they honestly look like an AI-generated dream.

📍Sankeien, Yokohama

Growing up in Japan, cherry blossoms have always held a deeply special meaning for me, bringing back quiet memories of how I used to admire them as a little girl. As much as I adore sakura season, I also cherish peace and quiet. If you want to escape the busy city crowds, I highly recommend visiting Sankeien Garden in Yokohama. It’s just a short trip from Tokyo and offers a beautifully spacious setting where you can truly take in the blossoms without pushing shoulder-to-shoulder. 🌸🍃

Right in the middle of Shinjuku, you'll find this gorgeous urban oasis. We just happened to stumble upon the most perfect scene - it’s almost like something straight out of a fairytale 🌸

I’m so incredibly thankful to for being the most wonderful model. I absolutely love doing these kinds of shoots; they give me so much creative flexibility, and I always cherish the feeling of connecting and creating with another amazing woman. 🤍

Falling for Daikanyama, one petal at a time 🌸

There’s something so magical about standing under a rain of cherry blossoms -who even needs an umbrella when you have a canopy of pink?

When she suggested a few candid shots at this little café, I was thrilled.

I knew it would be a beautiful scene, but seeing it come to life was like watching a movie unfold.

I’m completely in love with every single frame!

POV: You’re the only person at Senso-ji because everyone else is still dreaming 💫

Senso-ji’s weeping cherry blossoms are at peak “editorial perfection” right now. To get this level of silence in the middle of Tokyo, you have to be either very dedicated or very sleep-deprived. We chose both.

Everyone’s feed is a pink sakura dream right now, but can we take a moment for the gorgeous yellow canola fields?

Every time I see them, I’m instantly transported back to my first day of primary school, with my old school completely surrounded by these bright blooms.

I love that I get to photograph so many kids with their classic randoseru backpacks as a Japan based portrait photographer 🎒

It always makes me smile seeing how massive the bags look on their little shoulders when they first start, and how small those same bags look by the time they finish school.

Spotting the new students heading off to class with their giant backpacks is just the best.

P.S. I am absolutely OBSESSED with the 🍡 nails my client came up with for this shoot! 💅

Tokyo is the ultimate ‘two-for-one’ deal: you can go from ‘Big City CEO’ vibes to ‘Secret Garden’ serenity in a single afternoon 🏙️🌿

The stroll from Ginza to Hamarikyu Gardens is peak Japan, and this family was the perfect match for the scenery.

It’s been a joy photographing this wonderful family over the years—hitting Edo Tokyo Museum, Zojoji, and the cosmos fields along the way.

The boys are absolute naturals (honestly, they’re out-posing me now! 📸), and the parents’ ‘go-with-the-flow’ energy is what makes these shots truly shine. Here’s to this amazing family🥂✨

There is a unique magic in the air at Hie Shrine during Shichi-Go-San season ⛩️✨

As a portrait photographer, I’ve had the honor of capturing families who have lived in Japan for years, and others with Japanese heritage who travel across the world just to celebrate their children’s 3rd, 5th, or 7th milestones here.

Watching these kids climb the famous stairs in their traditional kimono is more than just a photo op—it’s a beautiful bridge between generations and cultures. So grateful to be a part of these memories. 👘❤️
