New National Theatre Tokyo Japan’s only national theatre dedicated to the performing arts of opera, ballet, dance and drama, presenting world-class performances in and out of Japan.

The New National Theatre, Tokyo (NNTT) is Japan’s only national theatre dedicated to the performing arts of opera, ballet, dance and drama. Since its inception in 1997, the NNTT has presented world-class performances both in and outside of Japan, and has come to occupy a familiar and much-loved place in the nation’s cultural life. The NNTT comprises the Opera House (known as Opera Palace), Playhou

Mozart’s Don Giovanni opened tonight at the New National Theatre Tokyo.

Vito Priante commanded the stage in the title role, joined by Irina Lungu as Donna Anna, leading a superb cast in this compelling production of Mozart’s timeless drama.

Superb singing, glorious vocal ensembles, and a vibrant orchestra brought the score vividly to life, captivating the audience from the first note to the chilling final scene.

🎭 Highlights from Rigoletto, which opened last night!

Fate, curse, and revenge unfold in Verdi’s gripping masterpiece. Under maestro Callegari, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the New National Theatre Chorus, and a superb cast including Eri Nakamura, Vladimir Stoyanov, and Lawrence Brownlee brought the drama vividly to life.

✨ Brownlee also made his role debut as the Duke of Mantua, delivering a brilliant “La donna è mobile.”
