Blackfield’s landscape transforms with every location in which it is exhibited. Shifts in scale, accumulation and the repositioning of flowers create a unique experience for viewers each time. From this image, you see only one side of Blackfield, a vibrant array of colorful botanical forms, unbeknownst to what the other side looks like. You can experience Blackfield at Gyre Gallery as part of Zadok’s solo exhibition.

‘Second Nature’, a solo exhibition by Zadok Ben-David, brings together decades of his work, including Blackfield, Evolution and Theory and The Other Side of Midnight. For the first time, a selection of Zadok’s pieces is shown together in a single exhibition across a range of media: floor and darkroom installations, video, and wall and floor sculptures, all exploring a shared theme.

‘For the past forty years, I have been working around the theme of Human Nature. I use images drawn from science; animals, plants, and trees as metaphors for our daily attitudes and behaviours. Unfortunately, we tend to forget that we, as human beings, are an integral part of nature. We often exploit it for our own needs, to the point of destruction and extinction.’

Be sure to visit ‘Second Nature’ at Gyre Gallery before it closes on 19 April!

A huge thank you to Gyre Gallery for creating this video which showcases some of Zadok’s most influential work.

We are excited to announce the opening of ‘Second Nature’ at Gyre Gallery in Tokyo, Japan.

Second Nature brings together a curated selection of works by Zadok Ben-David that, until now, have not shared the same space. Spanning multiple periods of the artist’s practice, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience these pieces in dialogue - revealing connections, shifts in intention and reoccurring motifs that threat across time.
Curated by Zadok Ben-David.

Opening dates:
14th February - 19th April 2026

We hope you are able to attend!

A little look back at some exciting early work, a collection of prints made in 1988!

Zadok Ben David created a collection of pieces involving foxes. Originally made using oil and chalk on paper, they were then transformed into a limited run of prints.

The bright, bold, colours and frenetic line work create a real sense of energy and movement, captured beautifully by the print process! 🦊

The main exhibition hall of the Cerveira Biennial Museum is currently hosting the largest solo exhibition so far of the project ‘People I Saw But Never Met’ by Zadok Ben David. We are so pleased to be able to show this work at such a scale!

Open from the 29th of March, the installation is exhibiting as part of the 2025-2026 programme of the Cerveira Art Biennial Foundation which is focused on the theme of “Borderless Territories”.
Promoting reflection on the concept of the border in its geographical, social, mental, and political dimensions.

Curated by Mafalda Santos, the installation will be on display until October 25th. It consists of over 9000 miniature figures and approximately 150 large figures, around 2000 of which were drawn from people Zadok photographed in Portugal.

We hope you are able to see this incredible display of People I Saw But Never Met! 👥
