Jinny Street Gallery is in the heart of Jingumae 2-chōme (神宮前二丁目), commonly known as “Jinni” (神二) by the locals.

Whiff outside the city hustle, with its little showcases scattered through all the streets. Jinny is for stroll lovers that do not care much about the destination but the joy of the process. Jinny is for urban flâneurs who take time to love the city in all its shapes and colors. Home to all who do not feel like going anywhere but to walk and enjoy our exhibitions.

Some conversations stay with you long after they end.

At our latest workshop, Emotion in Conversation , participants explored connection through conversations and collage, discovering new ways to express emotions beyond language.

Throughout the morning, stories were shared, ideas unfolded, and individual reflections gradually became a collaborative zine a collective record of the people, moments, and emotions in the room.

Thank you to everyone who joined us with openness, curiosity, and a willingness to create together. It’s always inspiring to see how each person brings something entirely their own to the space.

Our workshop series brings together artists, makers, and curious minds through creative experiences centered on art, storytelling, self-expression, and community.

✨ Jinny Street Gallery Workshop Series

心に残る対話には、不思議な力があります。

先日開催したワークショップ「Emotion in Conversation / Feeling Beyond Words」では、一対一の対話とコラージュ制作を通して、言葉だけでは表現しきれない感情やつながりを見つめました。

それぞれの会話から生まれた想いや記憶は、少しずつ一冊のコラボレーション・ジンへと形になり、その日、その場でしか生まれなかった時間を映し出す作品となりました。

ご参加いただいた皆さま、本当にありがとうございました。オープンな気持ちで対話し、創作を楽しんでくださったことに心より感謝しています。

Jinny Street Galleryのワークショップシリーズでは、アート、ストーリーテリング、自己表現、そしてコミュニティをテーマに、毎回異なるファシリテーターとともに創作の時間をひらいています。

It’s always a bittersweet moment—seeing the exhibition come to a close while celebrating everything we created together. A huge thank you to everyone who visited, supported, and shared this experience with us. 💛

JINNY PLAYGROUND — Recap 🎨✨

A sea mark appeared in the streets of Jingumae. 🌊
Not from the coast, but carrying a story of one.

As part of JINNY PLAYGROUND (May 30 – July 19th), streetlight poles throughout the neighborhood became unexpected spaces for art, play, and encounters.

Inspired by the west coast of Sweden, Miriam Ståhlgren’s sculptural work explores the quiet beauty found in places shaped by weather, industry, and time.

Sea Mark draws from coastal landmarks , towers, lighthouses, and buoys that guide ships while becoming unique symbols of the places they belong to.

For JINNY PLAYGROUND, Miriam created a sea mark without a fixed home. Carrying its own imagined village and story, the work invited each visitor to create their own connection.

But this artwork was not only meant to be seen.

Visitors could reach through a small opening in the acrylic panel and gently tap the bell inside, allowing its delicate sound to echo through the streets.

A small gesture. A quiet sound. A shared moment between the artwork, the city, and everyone passing by.

JINNY PLAYGROUND — 振り返り 🎨✨

神宮前の街に、ひとつの海標が現れました。🌊
海から離れた場所で、ひとつの物語を携えて。

作家：Miriam Ståhlgren

5月30日から7月19日まで開催されたJINNY PLAYGROUNDでは、街路灯のポールが国内外のアーティストによる作品の展示空間となり、街に新しい発見と体験を生み出しました。

スウェーデン西海岸の風景から着想を得たミリアム・ストールグレンの作品は、風雨や産業、時間によって形づくられた土地の静かな美しさを映し出しています。

灯台やブイなどの海辺の道標から着想を得たSea Markは、場所を示す役割を持ちながら、それぞれの土地の記憶を宿す存在でもあります。

今回の作品は特定の場所に属するものではなく、想像上の村と物語を携えて街を旅するような作品として制作されました。

そして、この作品は見るだけではありません。

アクリルパネルの小さな穴から棒を差し込み、内部のベルに触れることで、かすかな音を街に響かせることができました。

小さな行為、小さな音が、作品と街、そして人々をつなぐ瞬間を生み出しました。

We’re inviting artists and creators in Tokyo to participate in Notes from Jinny, a special exhibition at Jinny Street Gallery.

Selected artists will receive a Jinny Notebook and explore the streets of Jingumae 2-chome, filling it with sketches, drawings, writing, collage, or any visual notes inspired by the neighborhood.

The completed notebooks will become the artworks exhibited throughout Jinny Street Gallery.

📖 Theme
Observe the neighborhood through movement and attention. Rather than documenting the streets exactly as they are, express how you experience them. Every discovery and fleeting moment becomes part of your personal Jinny Notebook.

🌿 Who can apply?
• Artists & creatives in Tokyo, or able to visit Jinny during August
• All graphic mediums and styles welcome

Good news! Jinny Playground has been extended until July 19, giving you more time to discover the interactive world of illustrator Elena Pugger.

Elena creates soft, playful worlds for children by combining illustration, storytelling, and a touch of augmented reality. Inspired by childhood, everyday tenderness, and the small magical moments families share together, her work invites visitors into warm, accessible, and memorable experiences.

Created especially for Jinny Playground, her interactive illustration is inspired by the nostalgic feeling of discovering a hidden playground in the city. At the heart of the artwork is a curious cat resting quietly on a slide, waiting to meet visitors.

By scanning the illustration with augmented reality, the cats comes to life, transforming the scene into a small magical encounter between the physical and digital worlds. The project brings warmth, playfulness, and a sense of childlike wonder into the urban landscape.

エレナ・プッガーは、イラスト、ストーリーテリング、そしてAR（拡張現実）を組み合わせ、子どもたちのためのやさしく遊び心あふれる世界を描いています。幼い頃の記憶や、家族と過ごす何気ない温かな時間から着想を得た作品は、親しみやすく心に残る体験を生み出します。

《Jinny Playground》のために制作された作品は、街の中で偶然見つけた秘密の遊び場のような、どこか懐かしい気持ちから生まれました。作品には、すべり台で静かに訪れる人を待つ一匹の猫が描かれています。

イラストをARで読み込むと、遊び場が動き出し、現実とデジタルが重なり合う小さな魔法のような体験が始まります。街の中に、あたたかさや遊び心、そして子どもの頃のワクワクする気持ちを届けるプロジェクトです。
