Hello my lovelies!
Sadly, it’s going to get real quiet here while I search for a new place to call home 😭😭 BUT good news, I’m still attending Brisnova Saturday and Sunday this year. I’ve been waiting to share this - here’s the build ever! I’m so proud of how my Elphaba Thropp Ozdust Ball cosplay turned out! I had started her back in August and have been working on her ever since but now I can officially say, she is complete!!
All up the costume costed $115 and of the costs come from all the details and beads as I couldn’t help but make it extra magical. The fabrics themselves only ended up being $15 thanks to my dear friend for supplying some of his own fabrics from his Wicked Witch of the West cosplay which makes her all the more special. 💚 Everything is self patterned from clothes I already own and sewn from scratch, all the details were a mix of hand stitching and sewing inclusive of all the beads, trims, fungi mesh and the rhinestones placed on one by one.
Each swirl pattern individually cut out and stitched on, chains ripped straight from left over jewellery, buttons from AliExpress as well as, trims, zips and a single button brought from local stores. I also have a green undershirt made from green tights for under the mesh and gloves with glued on nails to match. The vest and skirt have an inner lining and the vest has interfacing as well to hold its structured shape.
Alongside, the buttons are snap fasteners to hold and decorative stitching to coordinate with the many rhinestones. Bias tape for the thin sleeves, her witches hat made from foam, wire and snap fasteners to made it easier to break down. Added ruffles and lining to make the hat comfortable and slanted in shape like her hat in the movie. This has been a costume in the making and I couldn’t be more happier with how gorgeous the silhouette looks now having tried it on. Just in time for Part Two of the Wicked movie as well, as I grow and learn new skills I can’t help but feel more motivated to create more beautiful creations like this. It has to be my favourite one to date, catch me roaming around Sunday. Until next time, happy cosplay!
