🚨 UPDATE: 8 dead and 1 missing after severe flooding in Chiba, Japan 🇯🇵

Record-breaking rain from August 13 to 14 caused widespread flooding across Chiba Prefecture. At least eight people have died, while one person remains missing.

🌧️ Chiba City recorded more than 360 mm of rain within 24 hours, including 115 mm in just one hour.

⚠️ The Level 5 emergency warnings were downgraded at 5:15 a.m., but the risk of further flooding and landslides remains.

Around 7,400 people evacuated to shelters, approximately 6,600 passengers were stranded overnight at Narita Airport, and nearly 19,600 households remained without power as of 2:30 p.m.

Please avoid flooded roads, rivers and underpasses, and follow local safety instructions. 🙏
