SIVELIA個展は6月3日(水)までの開催です！
会場では、実際の制作道具の一部を見ることができます。

作家自身が体験してきたストリートアートカルチャーやファッションに影響を受け、古いオモチャ等の不要になった素体を加工し組み合わせた立体コラージュの手法でアートフィギュアを製作しています。

ーアーティストステートメントー
MAD SILLY THINGは以下の項目を設定し制作の指針としています。

①カスタムアートフィギュアとして飾ったときのビジュアルが過度に装飾しすぎていないか
②全構成(裏テーマ設定)として
PUNK, カートゥーン, 反戦(キャラクターを用いたプロパガンダ等の側面から)のクロスボーン
③ディティール解説等がない状態で見たときの分かりやすさとカスタムの共通性

シンプルに素体の原型は残しつつ、某偉大なデザイナーが残した"3%ルール"のように追加パーツを分かりやすく追加する。
この分かりやすく追加するを今回の展示作品では重要視しています。
分かりやすいは、ともすれば"安直"につながりやすい面もありますが、自分自身いい年齢になってきた現在でもパンクカルチャーが好きでストームトルーパーとカートゥーンキャラクターをひたすらに集め、クロスボーンがついているアイテムはいつまでもかっこいい。そう本気で思っている安直なタイプなのです。

SIVELIA’s solo exhibition is until June 3rd!

Influenced by the street art culture and fashion, SIVELIA creates art figures using a sculptural collage technique that involves modifying and combining discarded materials such as old toys.

—Artist Statement—
MAD SILLY THING has set the guidelines to guide its creative process:

1. When displayed as a custom art figure, is the visual appearance overly ornate?
2. As an overarching concept (underlying theme), a cross between PUNK, cartoon, and anti-war (from the perspective of using characters for propaganda, etc.)
3. Clarity when viewed without detailed explanations, and the commonality of customization

While simply retaining the base figure’s original form, adding extra parts in clearly understandable ways—much like the “3% rule” left behind by a certain great designer.
This concept of “adding parts in a clearly understandable way” is a key focus in the works featured in this exhibition.
While "easy to understand" can sometimes lead to "simplistic," I’m the kind of person who, even at my age, still loves punk culture, obsessively collects Stormtroopers and cartoon characters, and genuinely believes that items featuring crossbones will always look cool. I’m that kind of simplistic person.

この度YOD TOKYOでは、勝木有香、田崎蟻、椿野成身による三人展「Scenes of the Unseen」を開催いたします。

本展では、3名の作家がそれぞれの視点を通して、普段は意識されにくい感覚や記憶、物事の関係性に着⽬して制作した作品を展開いたします。
記憶や⼼情、気配、動きといった形としては捉えにくい要素は、作家⾃⾝の観察や思考を経ることで、私たちの⽬に⾒える像として現れます。

勝⽊有⾹は、アニメーションにおける線や動きのレイヤーを抽出し、キャラクターの動きを断⾯的にとらえながら再構成します。⾒落とされがちな要素を取り出すことで、リズムや感情が線として浮かび上がります。
⽥崎蟻は、裁判傍聴やボランティアなどで得た体験をもとに、社会や個⼈の関係の中で⽣まれる感情や不条理を描き出します。「社会」を題材としながら、その中で絶えず⽣まれる多様な感情にも着⽬し、光と影を⽤いて表現します。
椿野成⾝は、記憶の中にある⾵景の断⽚を記号化し、複数のイメージを重ね合わせることで、実在と記憶のあわいにある空間を描き出します。キャンバスに現れる実在しない⾵景は、鑑賞者⾃⾝の記憶を想起させ、それぞれの経験と結びつきます。

YOD TOKYO is pleased to present a group exhibition by Yuka Katsuki, Ariel Tazaki, Narumi Tsubakino, entitled “Scenes of the Unseen”.

This exhibition features works by three artists who, through their respective perspectives, focus on sensations, memories, and the relationships between things that are often unnoticed.
Elements that are difficult to grasp in physical form—such as memories, emotions, presence, and movement—emerge as images visible to our eyes through the artists’ own observations and reflections.

Katsuki extracts layers of lines and movement from animation, capturing and reconstructing the movements of characters in a fragmented manner. By extracting these often-overlooked elements, rhythm and emotion emerge as lines.
Tasaki draws on experiences gained from observing court proceedings and volunteering to depict the emotions and absurdities that arise within social and personal relationships. While using “society” as her subject matter, she also focuses on the diverse emotions constantly generated within it, expressing them through the interplay of light and shadow.
Tsubakino symbolizes fragments of landscapes from memory and, by layering multiple images, depicts a space situated at the intersection of reality and memory. The non-existent landscapes that appear on the canvas evoke the viewer’s own memories and connect with their individual experiences.

本日より、うえだあやみ、辻美保子による二人展『Tracing Light』をYOD KYOTO にて開催しております。

本展では作家それぞれの光の表現を通して、鑑賞者自身の記憶を辿り、描かれているモチーフの背景へと思考を巡らせるきっかけとなる作品を展開します。

光は輪郭を持たない、曖昧な存在です。場所や角度、時間によってその姿を変えながら、私たちの日々の中に常に存在しています。そして、その光によって私たちは色を認識し、絵画においても欠かすことのできない要素となっています。 
住まいから漏れる灯り、植物に降り注ぐ眩い太陽光。光の在り方は、温もりを感じさせることもあれば、時に孤独を表現することもあります。その受け取り方や、そこから想像される物語は、鑑賞者それぞれの経験や記憶によって異なります。

親しみのある風景や、日常の中にある対象、そしてその空間に存在する光。
光を辿る視線の先で、これまでの記憶や新たな情景が重なっていきます。

Duo exhibition “Tracing Light” by Ayami Ueda and Mihoko Tsuji has started today at YOD KYOTO. 
Through each artist’s unique expression of light, this exhibition presents works that invite viewers to trace their own memories and contemplate the backgrounds of the depicted motifs.

Light is an ambiguous presence without form. It constantly exists within our daily lives, changing its appearance depending on location, angle, and time. It is through light that we perceive color, making it an indispensable element in painting as well. 
Light leaking from homes, dazzling sunlight pouring down on plants.The presence of light can convey warmth, yet it can also express solitude. How it is perceived, and the stories imagined from it, differ based on each viewer’s experiences and memories.

Familiar landscapes, everyday subjects, and the light existing within those spaces.
Where the gaze follows the light, past memories and new scenes overlap.

YOD KYOTOにて開催中の杉山陽平、竹井晴日、村上生太郎によるグループ展「奥行の崩し方」は5月26日(火) までです✨
 「奥行」を日常に潜む記憶や感覚の層と捉え、それをそれぞれの方法で“崩し”、再構築する三人の試みをご紹介します。

杉山陽平は、植物をモチーフに抽象と具象のあいだを探る作品を制作。
竹井晴日は、軽やかな線と空想的なイメージで生活と幻想をつなぎます。
村上生太郎は、鮮やかな配色と繊細な筆致で、色彩のレイヤーを構築します。

さらに本展にあわせて、3人の作品世界をもとにした“コラボレーションファッションアイテム”も登場。
それぞれの作家によるデザインの洋服やスカーフを、YOD KYOTOにて販売いたします。
