Beginning —

Throwback to my first ever post of my calligraphy. It was this day last year that I finally had the confidence to show my work to everyone.

Fast forward, I’m still learning up to this day. I’m no professional artist but what I realized is that, we only need that ONE brave step to finally show what we can do. It will not be easy at first but eventually, you will meet people with the same passion as you who will be your support system along the way too.

Take heart. I believe in you. You are so much more than the things you believe you are. Don’t let anyone stop you from achieving your goals just because they’re not happy to see you making progress. Go for your goal✨

“Why do you paint?”

Been asking myself many times, “why?? What’s in it for me? Why is it so important?”

Honestly, until now I don’t really have answers. All I know is, when I’m sad, I paint. When I’m happy, I paint. When I’m frustrated, I paint. When I have so much stuff to do, I paint. It’s like painting is my way of taking a break. It’s like the reset button of my mind. It clears my head. I don’t even think if my painting is good, I just do it.

Maybe it wasn’t really meant to mean anything. It is something that should make you feel relaxed and happy, not something that will make you more frustrated by aiming perfection.

How about you? Why do you paint?
Lots of meetings today and this is exactly what I need. Tried using my dagger brush in painting roses and I loved it. I used only one dagger brush in this work. Yay💓

Reminded of this verse and I am grateful for the Lord for always giving me a new day full of hope. What an amazing God we serve!

Lately, I have been too occupied with work. Everday is a challenge to do better in this advocacy that we have. I face rejections and fear how people will respond whenever I talk to them. There are times I feel so down and I praise God I was reminded of this verse. God never ceases to amaze me, always🥺🥺
