My work and the bottles it labels are being exhibited at Whisky Live 2025, being held in Paris, France.
I was requested by LA MAISON DU WHISKY in France, and worked with Chichibu in Japan.
I wasn't sure when to release the information, and with all the hustle and bustle of exhibitions and such, it ended up being now.
If you're in Paris, or in the area, please enjoy this delicious whiskey.
I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at Chichibu Distillery, Mr. Nagai who took the photos, Mr. Sato who mediated between us, and Armand who reached out to me, and to everyone who helped me out.

フランスパリにて開催されているウィスキーライブ2025に作品とそれをラベル化したボトルが出展されています。
フランスのLA MAISON DU WHISKY社より依頼があり、日本の秩父さんとお仕事をさせていただきました。
情報の公開のタイミングがよく分からず、展示などのバタバタでこのタイミングとなってしまいした。
パリにいらっしゃる方は、もし近くにいたらとても美味しいウィスキーを楽しんでください。イチローズモルト、美味しすぎです。役得でした。

滋賀県近江八幡市にて開催されております琵琶湖ビエンナーレに参加させて頂いております。
こちらもすでに会期が始まってからのお知らせとなってしまい、申し訳ありません。
私は総合案内所でもある旧市街地エリアの旧伴家の２階に展示をさせていただきました。
四十五畳の大広間に跨る梁はとても立派で、印象的な空間です。展示と併せて、ぜひ建物もご覧頂き、楽しんでいただければと思います。

This is to announce that I will be participating in an exhibition.

I am taking part in the Biwako Biennale, which is being held in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture.
I apologize for announcing this after the event has already begun.
I'm exhibiting on the second floor of the former Ban family home in the old town area, which also serves as the general information center.
The beams spanning the large hall measuring 45 tatami mats are magnificent, making for an impressive space. I hope you will enjoy viewing the building as well as the exhibition.

上野駅で本日より開催されています第70回交通総合文化展2023に招待され、作品を制作、展示させて頂いています。
今回はステンドグラスの工房の皆さんとの共作させていただきました。普段の制作の延長ながら、違ったアプローチをとった作品で、自分にとっても色々と勉強になりました。
今作はステンドグラスの技術を用いて、割られたガラスを再構築してつくられています。
お近くにお越しの際は是非お立ち寄りくだ最後の写真はお世話になったステンドグラスの工房の皆さんと。
プロフェッショナルの方々からたくさんの刺激をもらいました。
交通文化協会の皆様にはこの様な機会をいただき、また様々なサポートをいただきました。

We have been invited to create and exhibit our work at the 70th Transportation Culture Exhibition 2023, which is being held at Ueno Station from today.
This time, I collaborated with members of a stained glass studio. This work is an extension of my usual work, but with a different approach, and it was a great learning experience for me.
This work is made by reconstructing broken glass using stained glass techniques.

I received a lot of inspiration from these professionals.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Traffic Culture Association for giving us this opportunity and for their support.

初めて参加してから気がつけば12年になる。
今回は初めて参加した時に使わせてもらった会場である家屋そのものを素材として捉え、制作していきました。
今回の会期も残すところあと10日あまりになってしまいました。会期は10月9日までです。

あっという間に最終日になりました。
It was the last day.

In the area where I live, wooded areas are being cleared one after another, swamps are being reclaimed, and new townscapes are being built one after another. In recent years, I have seen buildings built after World War II, which are no longer serving their purpose, being replaced one after another with new buildings. I look at these changes with a bit of sadness, wondering if it means that the towns we live in and our lives are changing just as the ridgelines of the earth we see in the distance are changing moment by moment outside of our perception.
In the midst of this inescapable flow, I ask myself what it means to live in this world.
This time, I would like to think about our place in this world through the material "iron" that I climbed and collected from the scrap pile of a factory where discarded items from society are gathered.
Iron, a material indispensable to modern life, surrounds us with various functions and roles, but at the same time it is a material stripped of such things.
Only when stripped of its attributes, dismantled into pieces, and collected can it be classified as "iron. They are piled up like mountains, covered with traces of their roles, rust and oil.
They are in constant motion as the ridges behind our daily lives. Standing in front of this scene, we are touched by the presence of "iron" for us, and at the same time, we feel as if we are watching us living in this world.

このたび、オリエアート・ギャラリーでは本郷芳哉の彫刻展を開催します。
　本郷芳哉は金属を用いた彫刻作品を主に制作し、個展や日本国内の芸術祭での発表に加え、海外でのレジデンスプログラムなどにも数多く参加しています。本郷の金属との取組みは、素材としての金属と向き合うことからはじまり、自身の身体を通しての感覚を手がかりに、その彫刻の在り様は発掘してゆくようにより確かなものへと変化して来ました。2022年の世界遺産仁和寺の個展では、庭園や御殿内に高さ170cmほどの巨石を彷彿させる金属作品を展示し、日本庭園として馴染深い景色に文字通り新たな一石を投じました。アーティフィシャルと自然の関係性を再考する意欲的な試みからは、今後の展開の予告とも言える姿勢がみられます。
　本展では、現在までの制作スタイルを追って「アルミニウム×熱」による多様な造形を展示します。熱で金属の質量を移動させることで繊細な網目模様が浮かび上がる「Appearance」は、本郷が周囲の空気や光、素材の変容を感じながら制作するインスタレーション作品です。凹凸や揺らぎを、会場いっぱいに（高さ2m・横幅6m）展示することで作品のスケールを体感いただきます。その他、アルミの円柱に熱と空気の痕跡を残す「The substance」、熱によるドローイングとも呼べる「The interaction」シリーズの作品を合わせてご紹介します。
　「彫刻とは素材を通じてこの世界と対話する行為でもある」と語る本郷の熱とともに重ねられたDialoguesは素材との対峙であると同時に、人や社会を含めた関係性を探る会話の連なりでもあります。世界と共鳴しながら広がり続ける本郷の金属作品をぜひ会場でご高覧下さい。
