Oh em GEE! How incredible is this new work from William Exley 😮 Will was commissioned by National Videogame Museum - UK to create a visual response to stories collected from the public about their personal history and memories with video games. Will pulled info from over a hundred submissions and worked hard to find a balance between the expected videogame visuals and the people behind each story.
From William Exley “Iknew at the commissioning stage that it had to be a large scale piece, so this was a nice project to design a process that could translate my ink drawings to scalable vectors (and work in a way my laptop could handle!). The brief also specified a “Where’s Wally?” approach, so it was. fun puzzle to fit in all the stories and hide some easter eggs in the image. The final mural accompanies the Your Videogame Stories board, where visitors can write down or draw their own memories of games which feels like a real honour to be part of.”
You can go and see this mega piece at the museum this summer - head on over to the website to get your tickets now!
