It’s been a while since I drew in this style. The work I’ve been doing lately has had me switching styles all the time. It’s kind of interesting to see how the new ways I’ve been tackling color are bleeding into my overall natural style. I think it’s cool at least. Anywhoo… I have struggled with the challenges of feeling feminine in a world that values long hair. I am bad at doing my own hair and I can’t really go to a hair salon, so I’m trying to be more ok with having short hair. So a doodle, feminine and short haired! I want to be as confident as this. w

Well… its been a little minute, ain’t it? I’ve honestly been so busy working on so many different projects that I can’t share. The world is weird and scary right now… I honestly don’t know how to process life some days. So here’s something I doodled today to take a brain break from how creativity busy I’ve been. My art style has evolved a lot recently because of what I’ve been working on, so that’s kinda neat. Ｔｈｏｕｇｈｔｓ？

Got a new watercolor sketchbook. Did a little water coloring. I was a bit nervous about using it for some reason, so I’ve been doing stuff in my sketchbook… but honestly, I think I’m pretty confident with it again! Not too shabby for 2.5 hours? 😌

Today’s traditional illustration doodle is another fairy elf type thing. I’m having a lot of fun drawing on paper again. It’s weird. It’s much more convenient, digital… but there’s still something really really enjoyable about pen and ink on paper. 😌

Today in days (posted late because I was sick, L)… it’s birds. Just birds and Japanese practice. Went to a cool library nearby with an insane amount of cool books and a great study space. Sketched birds next to all the diligent students studying for exams, surely utterly confused by my presence.

I think birds are my favorite animal type.

I’ve been working pretty seriously at sketching in meat space these days. I’m finding a lot of joy in working on my sketchbook in a considered way. Trying to think less about “what works” and more about what I like to make. Im sorting out character designs for a thing…. What hairstyle do you like best?? Let me know the letter in your reply. I’m not sure what to do with instagram these days to be totally honest. It’s a bit disheartening just how heard it is to reach new people and likeminded folks. But in the face of the AI overlords, I’ve been finding my peace in picking up my sketchbook again. I’m challenging myself to learn watercolors and redefining what I want my style to become. I’m thinking about starting a purely watercolor insta as I try to improve. Thoughts?

I recently read an article featuring about how the show I was looking forward to featuring Tiana had been cancelled. Having lived in Japan for a while now, more and more I feel like the most disrespected and neglected princes is Tiana. I never see merchandise with her. I rarely see art of her that isn’t the original character illustration from the promo days…. I would like to say that I don’t understand why … but deep down I feel some type of way about it. Even when I went to , Tiana is nowhere. 😭 That was my first Disney park… and honestly it really killed some magic for me. So, since it’s rare to see official art of her, I wanted to pretend I was making some of her. Partially to test out my chops, but mostly to celebrate my favorite gourmet girlie in green. 💚🐸
