GODZILLA (ゴジラ) vs KONG (コング)

The collab is finally here! This was such a fun project to work on. It took dozens of different drafts and sketches to finally get a final product I was happy with but I’m glad to say I finally did it. I now have a graveyard full of unused/unfinished sketches for this movie 😂 but working with these guys has been such a great experience and I’m so proud of the work my fellow artists put into this project. Godzilla vs Kong - Ink & color

This piece was inspired by the Hong Kong fight scene shown in the trailer. The pose for Godzilla was referenced by the great Matt Frank. I’m learning a lot from him as I begin working on my own ink Godzilla drawings. I have a few friends who will also be doing Kaiju drawings today so keep an eye out for those on my story.
I cannot wait for this movie to come out!

As my account is a few months away from its 1 year anniversary, I wanted to make this post to show how my art has evolved throughout the past year. I watched less than a handful of art classes online but that’s about it. I didn’t have any teachers or anything of that sort. I learned simply by drawing more and more and by re doing some of my older drawings again and again and working on the things that needed improvement. My point with this post, is to motivate anyone who feels like they aren’t happy with how their art looks or aren’t at the level of realism that they want. But that’s okay, I was in the same boat a few months ago, and I still am today. I still feel like I have tons of room for improvement with my art. But the only way I, or anyone else can get there, is to never stop drawing. Let me know which of these characters you thing I made the biggest improvement on? ⬇️

It’s been a lot of fun working with ink. I always used to sketch with pens but I never but in as much effort into it as I have now. I know I said I was going to color it, but I think it’s better off black and white, but don’t worry cause I have another huge piece dropping the day the movie comes out as part of a huge collab 👀
