I don’t draw much these days and I miss it a lot... No, instead, I do a lot of that: holding my little one, feeding him, going on adventures together! It’s amazing but it’s also extremely tiring and sometimes I wish I could do something else, but then I realize I would probably waste time doing nothing interesting. Yet, I feel guilty thinking that way… Reading stories of other mums, I am sure we all share that kind of feelings at times! .stories

This is how my wish for a natural birth turned into the most medicalized birth I could have imagined… I was slowly induced the night before my due date and the next morning I was hooked to a pitocine drip, a fœtus heart monitor and a bp machine. Then I was asked to walk up and down the corridors with all that machinery… needless to say I was feeling quite down after I had prepared myself for a natural birth for the past nine months… it was hard to remember any of my Hypnobirthing and breathing techniques or even affirmations of confidence at that stage! Thankfully my husband was there with me and turned stupid situations into funny ones. Together we walked up and down those corridors and quickly it happened. After a total of 5ish hours in the LDR my little baby was born healthy and so was I! Although I knew it was all that mattered, it did take me a bit of time to feel fine about that experience….

I haven’t been posting much lately, with the creative block during my pregnancy and then the tiredness! But this is an illustration I drew at the very end of my pregnancy; it shows how I was feeling during most parts of it: strong, natural, beautiful and empowered. I am one of those women who love being pregnant, I blossom during pregnancies, I love my big body! I also had an incredible experience with the birth of my second child, it was 100% natural and yet at the hospital, here in Japan. At that time I felt I could do it, I felt empowered! I had prepared for a natural birth using everyday, listening to the wonderful tracks about breathing calmly, visualizing the stages of labour and pushing, etc. It was so helpful! This time again for my third pregnancy I prepared with and planned a natural birth with my doctor. This time however my doctor felt there were risks for my health and for the baby and recommended an induction. My confidence shattered and I ended up having a very different experience. It was hard for me, having worked so hard everyday on getting confident, strong and ready for a natural and calm gentle birth…

Happy New Year of the Tiger everyone! Hope you had happy celebrations! Here, the whole Xmas and New Year season was very quiet but perfect! My due date is on Tuesday but I thought maybe this third baby would be born early and would be a 2021 baby! But no! So it’s official now that we will be having a Tiger baby 🐯👶🏻 and it’s great!

It’s been a while since I last posted! I have been busy growing a tiny human and losing my creativity! Honestly my creativity took a hit this time again. I can’t seem to draw when I am pregnant, and apparently it’s quite common! At least I know I will get over it as I did the previous times! Anyway I drew this pregnant lady about three months ago and I redrew her about 100 times and I am still not happy but enough is enough haha!

My interpretation of the prompt is simply about being able to gather together and go out with friends again after so many months of apero on Zoom 🤣. That is my Rainbow after the rain! So drinks at the iconic café terrasse anytime soon? I hope so!

to help share some positiveness to the world! We all need some 😊
The aim of the challenge is to boost mood (obviously) and what would boost my mood at the moment is as simple as meeting and hugging my loved ones, reuniting with them whether it is family gatherings or friends night out. So my answers to the various prompts will be illustrations of love!
Third prompt is “Believe in Magic”. I believe in the magic of starting a family, and when your own family is getting as excited as you are when a new member is about to be born. Although it was frightening the first time, I couldn’t help but think it was magical when my little ones were born and how our families got together to help us even though we were on the other side of the planet ;-) A lot of my friends recently welcomed new babies in their family and it was so hard to be unable to share those magical moments with their loved ones... so here’s a mood booster for those who can’t get together with their families right now ❤️
