【近況について】
第4回枕崎国際芸術賞展にて、《Fractal［twilight］》（116.7cm×91.0cm、油彩・アクリル・インク／キャンバス）が入選いたしました。
本展は3年ぶりの開催となり、国内外から集まった834点の応募の中から、平面58点・立体24点が入選作品として選出された公募展です。会期は2025年7月21日〜9月15日、鹿児島県・枕崎市文化資料センター南溟館にて開催されます。
《Fractal［twilight］》は、記録映像メディアとしてのカメラで捉えた一瞬を素材とし、デジタルソフトによりイメージを分解・再構成した上で、アナログメディウム（油彩・アクリル）を重ねることで階層的な画面を構築しています。このプロセスは、視覚のオートマティスムに抗しつつ、知覚と記憶の複層性を絵画空間として定着させる試みでもあります。
一見すると平滑な画面には、異質なマチエールが静かに共存し、写真の客観性と絵画の主観性が交錯する、いわば「媒介された経験」の場が現出します。写真的記録と絵画的再構成との間に生じるズレや揺らぎを通して、現代における〈イメージ〉と〈実在〉の関係を問い直すことが、本作の根幹にあります。

[Recent Update]
My work Fractal [twilight] (116.7 cm × 91.0 cm, oil, acrylic, and ink on canvas) has been selected for the 4th Makurazaki International Art Award Exhibition.
This juried exhibition returns after a three-year hiatus, having received 834 submissions from both Japan and abroad. Out of these, 58 two-dimensional and 24 three-dimensional works were selected. The exhibition will be held from July 21 to September 15, 2025, at the Makurazaki City Cultural Center Nanmeikan in Kagoshima, Japan.
Fractal [twilight] begins with a single photographic moment—captured via camera as a form of visual documentation. The image is then digitally deconstructed and reconfigured, after which analog media (oil and acrylic) are layered to construct a stratified pictorial surface. This process resists visual automatism, instead seeking to inscribe the layered nature of perception and memory within the medium of painting.
Beneath the seemingly smooth surface, contrasting textures coexist in quiet resonance, forming a space of “mediated experience” where photographic objectivity and painterly subjectivity intersect.
At its core, the work aims to interrogate the unstable relationship between image and reality in contemporary visual culture, through the tensions and dissonances that arise between photographic documentation and painterly reconstruction.
