Inquiry and Arty Play with Dr Gai

Dear colleagues and friends. I am leading a December 2026 TRIP TO NEPAL cultural and educational immersion tour to Nepal for a group of Early Childhood professionals. We will partner with ICRI Nepal to renovate and resource a preschool classroom to support play-based learning. We will also deliver a full day of FREE training for early childhood teachers in Kathmandu and volunteer our time in several early childhood settings.

Our group of early childhood professionals very much appreciate any donation big or small that you are able to make to this important annual project.

Funds raised will support purchase of paint, carpets and furniture and resources to equip an Early Childhood classroom with resources and equipment. All remaining funds will be donated to International Children's Resource Institute NEPAL to support their ongoing projects in Early Childhood Education and children and family service projects.

Fantastic and thoughtful work! When educators respect children’s capabilities and honour their rights to fully experience cultural and artistic life, this means also elevating the artisan and crafting traditions of our society and community. We write about this in our book Art Play and Inquiry- where you can access not only more ideas for rich arts practices, but also the theory and research informed justifications for working in child honouring ways.
