Kimono Shop Sakaeya Rental Kimono&sell Yukata, second hand, authentic Kimono. A small family run over 60years shop The shop for selling Kimono is also my home in Harajyuku.

Our shop has around 50 years history and over 3,000 costumers who are Japanese and non-Japanese. For those who you would like to buy Kimonos,

All these items are at our main shop out side of TOKYO. So please e-mail blue text info, if you are interested in buying Kimono. Our main shop will sent your items to Harajyuku therefor we ask at least 2 days before notice. When your info is not clear (

like " budget : not expensive") , we may not answer it. These info we need "what you like to have and what for it (For wearing, let me know your measurements: height&hip with cm) with budget "

After this info, I will sent our map ( location is different from Kimono rental place). Since a famous Japanese politician live same mansion as our home, security is very high . If I can not see your email with socialized behavior, we may reject your coming.

The winning pick from her fitting? This deep green embroidered Houmongi (visiting kimono) 💚
What makes this piece truly incredible is that the entire pattern is created using 100% embroidery—specifically Sagara embroidery (相良刺繍), a technique similar to the French knot. It’s so wonderfully chic, perfectly highlighting her beauty and sharp intellect.
Since this was just a fitting, the kimono is currently basting stitched (仮縫い). Next, our talented tailor will customize it to her exact measurements. Because she is tall with broad shoulders—typical for Western clients—we’re adding a few tailor-made tweaks to ensure a flawless fit!
I’ll be sharing the Obi (sash) and styling details right after my break.

Sending my deepest condolences on the passing of the Monarch of the Kingdom of Norway.

Studying in Norway over 20 years ago remains the biggest and best decision of my life.

My family initially opposed my leaving a good career, believing women didn’t need much education. They only gave their approval because Norway is a constitutional monarchy—viewing it as stable compared to republics. But living there taught me true independence, and I returned transformed, wondering why I ever asked for permission to spend my own money!

I chose Norway because it rejects excessive capitalism, and because the humble, down-to-earth spirit of the King lives in its citizens. I will always be thankful for that choice. ✨

Lately in Tokyo, it’s been way too hot for anything other than yukata, so picking out an outfit was a real challenge. I was worried this red tsuzure-ori obi might be a bit too bold, but my favorite kimono wholesaler reassured me: as long as you pair it with a subtle summer kimono, it works beautifully.

In Japan, red isn't just one color—it encompasses so many delicate shades and depths. Grateful for the beauty of traditional color combinations! ❤️

Invited a non Japanese guest to our business friend to order her visiting kimono or homongi. I would like to show many choices of kimono since what fits is very different from each. Some are modern and some are traditional. Colors are so many too. Even obi sash dramatically change kimono atmosphere.
Carrying many stocks is too risky for a small shop like us so ideal is taking guest to our business friend since I saw how my parents were straggling the stocks of kimono.
I am so appreciated that our pater invited us. Relationships is most important for having own business I often feel.
