We held a samurai experience event for overseas trainees at AISIN SEIKI Co.,Ltd. the other day. All of the students were very polite and were serious about learning the use of the sword.

アイシン高等学園の海外研修生向けにサムライ剣舞体験イベントを行いました。学生さんはとても礼儀正しく、刀の扱いを真剣に学んでくれました。

先月13日、20日に、過去にサムライ剣舞シアターに来てくださったお客様を対象にしたオンラインライブショーを開催しました。少しでもリアルに近い迫力を出そうと、特に音響や画質面で（社員は）四苦八苦し、内容も少し変えたりしました。コロナ禍で私たちの事業は厳しい状況にありますが、久々に元気の出るイベントができました。

Hello all,

(1)Live online show report

We have done our first live online show. We highly appreciate being watched by a large audience, and being given donations by many of them. The performers were very encouraged by this kind appreciation. We hope you had a fun time with our show! Since it was our first attempt, we had a hard time pursuing its better qualities, such as the video, the sound, the operation, and etc., but it was absolutely a big experience for us, as performers.

(2) Guide of the online Kenbu classes

A new 3-months course of online kenbu classes will start from October 7. Instructors at Samurai Kenbu Theater who have obtained diplomas in one of Kenbu schools that exist more than 100 schools in Japan will provide remote instruction using Zoom.

What is the goal?

At this course, you will complete a kenbu piece, called “Nipponto”, or the Japanese sword. This poem was written by Otori Keisuke, who was a samurai in the late 19th century, and who fought in the Meiji restoration.

Summary: Otori shows a respect to his sword, which was forged well by a swordsmith, and which fought hard with him in battle.

Announcement: starting online classes

We are happy to announce that we will start Online Kenbu classes this month!!
Since the opening of the Samurai Kenbu Theater in 2010, we have heard from so many of our customers who tried our Kenbu experience programs, saying, "I want to learn more!", and we have been looking for a way to grant their wishes.

Due to the influence of coronavirus, our dojo has more free space now, and it is a good opportunity to work on a new program, which is the Online Kenbu class.
If you are raring to move due to the prohibition of going out, let's learn Kenbu online!

We decided to take on the campaign of crowdfunding for the first time!

"We have heard so much from our customers, including comments like this: 'I came to know about Kenbu for the first time and it is very beautiful. I want to learn more about it in my hometown.' Notification of temporary closure of Samurai Kenbu Show

Due to coronavirus, we decided to temporarily decrease our business. We inform that we will close the Samurai Kenbu Show for a while, and will accept only lesson programs. As for customers who made a booking for the show, we will contact in person to request to change programs.
