TOMORROW FIELD Experience Program
“Stay in the Field”

TOMORROW FIELD is launching an immersive experience program for practitioners, professionals, researchers, and supporters engaged in the cultural and creative fields, including food, art, craft, architecture, and music. Based at TAIZA Studio and TAIZA Residence, a facility completed last autumn, this program offers participants the opportunity to gain deeper insight into the philosophy and projects of TOMORROW FIELD.

Through staff-led guidance, participants will explore the region’s culture, history, and traditional ways of living. This is more than a residency, it is an invitation to research, dialogue, and engage with the living history and local community of Taiza.

Period: February 2026
*The next session is scheduled for October 2026.
Length of Stay: 2 to 5 nights (Standard program: 2 nights 3 days. Additional nights are unstructured for self directed research/free time.)
Program:
Curated Tours - Private guided visits to key sites within the Taiza area
TAIZA Experience- Full accommodation at TAIZA Studio and TAIZA Residence
Field Research - Field trips to local artisan workshops and historical cultural resources
Program Fee: JPY 100,000 per one night/ day/ person

「Stay in the Field」

あしたの畑では、食・アート・工芸・建築・音楽など文化芸術分野の表現者・専門家・研究者・サポーターを対象にした体験プログラムを始動します。
本プログラムは、「間人スタジオ」、昨年秋に完成した施設「間人レジデンス」を拠点に、スタッフのガイド・アテンドによるプロジェクト「あしたの畑」により親しみ、体感していただき、地域の文化や歴史を吸収しながら、それぞれの活動や生活に生かしていただくことを目的としています。

単なる滞在制作にとどまらず、あしたの畑を通して、土地の文脈や地域の営みと接続するためのリサーチおよび自然・歴史との対話の機会を重視した体験型プログラムです。

時　期：2026年2月 ※次回開催は2026年10月を予定しています。
滞在期間：2泊3日～（3泊目からは自由時間となります。最長5泊まで。）
内　容：・スタッフによるプライベートガイドツアー（間人エリア内の各会場）
　　　　・「間人スタジオ」、「間人レジデンス」での滞在・宿泊体験
　　　　・周辺の工房、史跡、地域資源を訪ねるフィールドトリップ

デンマークの伝統的な発酵食
「ロブロ」の会 京都

京都岡崎のレストランcenciのオーナーシェフ坂本健さんがデンマーク滞在中に出会った、全粒ライ麦を使った伝統的な発酵パン 「ロブロ（Rugbrød）」。 高い栄養価と環境負荷の少なさをあわせ持つこのパンは、これからの食生活に欠かせない存在として、いま改めて注目されています。

本イベントでは、ロブロを中心に、デンマークで育まれてきた食と暮らしの文化を紹介する くらもとさちこさん をお招きし、ロブロの歴史や社会的な役割、そして日常に取り入れることの意義についてお話しいただきます。 .dk
当日は、くらもとさんによるロブロの食べ比べや、デンマークの伝統的なスモーブロなど、さまざまな試食をご用意しています。これからの食のあり方について語り合い、土地に根ざした食、発酵、持続可能な暮らしをテーマに、未来の食生活を考えるひとときとなれば幸いです。

また、このイベントでは、京都・吉田山のふもとにあるベーカリー「圓田（YENTA・エンタ）」のロブロを使用し、お持ち帰り用のロブロも準備しています。
圓田（YENTA）は、「シンプルで食べ飽きない食事パン」をテーマに、厳選した素材と丁寧な工程でパンづくりを行うベーカリーです。ロブロには、自然農法で育てられた国産ライ麦を使用し、時間をかけて仕込まれています。身体と環境にやさしいパンづくりへの、店主・吉原真由子さんの想いが詰まった一品です。 .bread

くらもとさちこ
広島県出身。コペンハーゲン在住。 30年以上に渡るデンマークでの暮らしの中で築いた知識と経験で、デンマークで培われた豊かな文化を独自の視点で紹介する企画や執筆を中心に活動している。専門は、食と食文化。

NPO法人TOMORROWは集落構想「あしたの畑」において設立メンバーのひとりである料理人の坂本健とともに、これからの食とアートについて探求し続けています。今回は、坂本の強い希望で食材のライ（麦）の可能性とデンマークの伝統的な国民食であるロブロ（Rugbrød）の魅力を体験いただける会の開催にあたり、協力しています。

TOMORROW FIELD introduces our activities and creative processes to the public every year.
In 2026, we are planning an autumn open period.
Throughout the year, we will also offer opportunities for visitors to participate directly in related programs and creative processes involving food, craft, art, and architecture.
Further details will be announced in April.
We invite you to experience the initiatives of TOMORROW FIELD and be part of this journey.

3. What is the most precious thing to you?
ーあなたにとって最も尊いものは？

What I treasure most is harmony.
Harmony in materials, in process, in the relationship with nature.
Earth buildings age, breathe, speak with wind and rain, and when their time is over, they return to the soil without leaving scars.
Perfection is not the goal; belonging to nature is.
A structure that lives and dies naturally radiates a beauty that cannot be manufactured.

私が最も大切にしているのは “調和” です。
素材と自然、つくり方と環境、そのすべてが調和していること。
土の建築は風雨とともに歳を重ね、役目を終えたら跡を残さず大地へ還っていきます。
完璧さではなく、自然の循環の一部であることこそが美しさを放つのです。

4. What does happiness mean to you?
ーあなたにとって幸せとは？

Happiness is creating something meaningful together.
Working with earth at the MIYA Tea House, surrounded by people using their unique talents, that brought me genuine joy.
When you follow your inner voice, even if it’s not mainstream or lucrative, the work becomes an expression of who you truly are.
That fulfillment cannot be bought.
It is the happiness of living your purpose.

幸せとは、仲間とともに “意味のあるもの” をつくることです。
MIYA Tea House の土づくりで皆の才能が重なり、一つの形が立ち上がる瞬間に心から喜びを感じました。
たとえ主流でなくても、お金を生まなくても、内なる声に従って働くと、それは自分の本質を表す行為になります。その満足感はお金では買えません。
自分の使命を生きることが、何よりの幸せです。

3. What is the most precious thing to you?
ーあなたにとって最も尊いものは？

It’s a hard question, but lately I’ve felt many moments of happiness.
Especially when I’m heading to a site with students, people who want to create something meaningful for a community.
Working side by side, enjoying the process together, feeling the energy of people from around the world gathered for one purpose.
The result matters, of course, but the process itself is often the happiest part.

すごく難しい質問ですが、最近「幸せだな」と思う瞬間がたくさんあります。
特に学生たちと一緒に現場へ向かうとき。コミュニティのために何かをつくりたいと思う人たちが集まり、一緒に手を動かす。
今回のように世界中から人が集まり、ものづくりを楽しむ時間そのものが、とても尊く感じます。
成果よりも、その手前の“つくっている時間”こそ、実は一番幸せなのだと思います。

1. How did you choose your profession?
ーどのように職業を選びましたか？

Simply because my grandfather did this work.
I grew up in that environment, so choosing this path felt natural.
For a moment, I dreamed of becoming a carpenter, but I was also drawn to my grandfather’s craft.
After some hesitation, I followed the path of plastering. His path, and now my own.

理由はとてもシンプルで、祖父がその仕事をしていたからです。
生まれた時からその環境にいたので、自然とその道を選んだ気がします。
一度だけ大工になりたいと思ったこともありましたが、祖父の仕事も魅力的で、悩んだ末に左官の道へ進みました。

2. What is the most precious thing to you?
ーあなたにとって最も尊いものは？

My daughter is my greatest treasure.
And equally precious is my own craft—the principles and commitment I bring to making things.
That core part of myself is something I value deeply.

一番の宝物は、やっぱり自分の娘です。
そして同じくらい大切なのが、ものづくりのときに大事にしている自分のポリシー。
自分の中で一番守りたい部分です。

2. What does happiness mean to you?
ーあなたにとって幸せとは？

Happiness is seeing people smile.
Their joy gives me energy, and when everyone is smiling, I feel this is happiness.

幸せは「人の笑顔を見ること」。
誰かが喜んでいる姿を見ると、自分も元気をもらえる。
みんなが笑っていると、本当に幸せだなと思います。

1. How did you choose your profession?
ーどのように職業を選びましたか？

I’ve always carried two callings: a desire to protect the environment and a deep need to create.
Architecture didn’t fully answer either, too often it serves the powerful and consumes enormous resources.
Everything changed when I touched earth for the first time in a workshop with Martin Rauch.
With my hands in the mud, I knew this was my material.
With earth, I can build communities, support social justice, care for the planet, and create spaces filled with meaning.
A building, a tea house, a gathering place, made from the ground beneath our feet, can give strength not only to its structure but to the people who build it together.

ずっと “環境を守りたいという思い” と “創造したいという衝動” の２つの情熱がありました。
しかし建築の世界は、資源を大量に消費し、権力の側に寄り添うことも多く、私の望む働き方とは違っていました。
転機は、マーティン・ラウフとのワークショップで土に触れた瞬間です。
泥に手を入れたとき、「これは私の素材だ」と直感しました。
大地から建てることで、地域を育て、社会正義に寄与し、地球を守る建築ができる。
足元の土から生まれる建築は、構造だけでなく、関わる人々の心も強くするのです。at

2. What can be done through education regarding the next generation, women, and the environment?
ー次世代、女性、環境について教育で取り組めることは？

True learning happens when your hands meet the material.
At the MIYA Tea House site, students feel the strength of earth, realize they don’t need cement or additives, and understand that nature is already complete.
Sustainability becomes intuitive, not theoretical.
We must also bring intuition and care back into architecture, qualities often labeled “feminine,” yet essential to healing our planet.
Designing from empathy and love, rather than fear and liability, leads to buildings and communities that resonate with harmony.

本当の学びは、手が素材に触れたときに生まれます。
MIYA Tea House の現場では、学生たちが土の強さを実感し、添加剤やセメントが不要であること、自然そのものがすでに完璧であることに気づきます。
サステナビリティは概念ではなく “体感” になるのです。
また、直感やケアといった、しばしば「女性的」とされる要素を建築に取り戻すことも重要です。
恐れではなく、他者や自然への愛と共感から生まれるデザインこそ、調和した建築とコミュニティをつくります。

1. How did you choose your profession?
ーどのように職業を選びましたか？

I’m not sure if I chose my profession, or if it simply became who I am.
By following what interested me, step by step, I ended up becoming a structural engineer.
It’s a job that’s hard to explain, even my mother still isn’t sure what I do.
But to me, it’s simple: I help turn people’s visions into real buildings and real cities.
I stand between designers and builders, translating ideas into structures.
So rather than choosing this profession, I think I just kept doing what felt right and arrived here.
Maybe that’s how many young people will find their path too.
職業は“選んだ”というより、興味あることを続けていたら自然と今の仕事になった、そんな感覚です。
構造エンジニアという職業は説明が難しく、母でさえまだ完全には理解していないと思います。
でも私にとっては明確で、ビジョンを持つ人と、それを実際につくる人の“橋渡し”をする仕事です。
建築や都市のイメージを、現実の形へ翻訳する役割。
選んだというより、気づいたらこの道にいた。きっと若い人も、やりたいことを続けていくうちに道が見えてくるのだと思います。

2. What can be done through education regarding the next generation, women, and the environment?
ー次世代、女性、環境について教育で取り組めることは？

Education is slow, but it’s the most powerful force for long-term change.
And education doesn’t only happen in schools. It happens in small groups, in shared work, in real experiences.
For the environment too, we shouldn’t rely on fixed ideas of what’s “right.”
Instead, we need to rethink everyday practices, value slower processes, and create space to think deeply.
Change takes time.
So education, like building, should be slow, steady, and shared.

教育はすぐに成果が出るものではありませんが、長い目で見れば一番大きく社会を変える力を持っています。学校だけが教育の場ではなく、小さなグループで一緒に手を動かしながら考えることも、大切な学びです。環境についても“これが正解”と決めつけず、昔から続く当たり前のやり方の価値を見直すことが必要だと思います。
ゆっくり考え、ゆっくりつくる。
教育も環境も、時間をかけて丁寧に向き合うことで変わっていくのだと思います。

1. How did you choose your profession?
ーどのように職業を選びましたか？

I grew up surrounded by clay. My father was an artist, and clay became my first language.
I became a ceramist, but soon started questioning why we always fire pottery and bricks.
I realized that earth itself can be strong without fire.
That insight led me from ceramics to sculpture, and eventually to rammed earth architecture.
For 40 years, I’ve been creating “sculptures for living.”
Each project teaches me to trust earth more.
Earth is strong. Earth is enough.
That discovery shaped my path.

幼い頃から、芸術家だった父のそばで粘土に触れて育ちました。
自然と陶芸家になりましたが、やがて「なぜすべてを焼成するのか」と疑問を持つようになったのです。
火を使わなくても、大地は十分に強い。そう気づいた瞬間、私は陶芸から彫刻へ、そして版築建築へと道が開けていきました。
40年間、私は“暮らすための彫刻”をつくり続けています。そのたびに、土という素材への信頼が深まります。
大地は強い。大地は十分だ。
その発見が、私の人生を形づくりました。

2. What does happiness mean to you?
ーあなたにとって幸せとは？

Happiness, for me, is living a meaningful life—doing work that serves a purpose.
Creating with my hands, especially building with earth, gives me a deep sense of fulfillment.
Working in a sustainable way, directly with the ground beneath us, connects me to something larger.
That feeling of purpose. That is happiness.

私にとって幸せとは、“意味のある人生” を生きることです。
とりわけ土という素材で何かを創り出すことは、深い充足感を与えてくれます。
大地と直接向き合い、持続的なものをつくること、その行為自体が、私を大きな循環につなげてくれる。
その「役に立てている」という実感こそが、私の幸せです。
