生成AIを活用した実作に向けた習作。

ZARAとのコラボレーションにあたり、検討を重ねたイメージです。

過去作品の中でも特に反響の大きかった「波」の構成をベースに、
コラボレーションのテーマである桜を重ね合わせることが主題となりました。

An image developed through extensive exploration for a collaboration with ZARA.

Based on the “wave” composition that received one of the strongest responses among my past works,
this study focused on layering the theme of cherry blossoms onto that structure.

先日の、いけばな展で生けた伊吹です。
用流しに生けました。
若干足が高いことと、用の座が長いことを除けば、
なかなか良いバランスに入ったと思います。

This is an arrangement of Ibuki cedar that I created for a recent ikebana exhibition.
In the Seika style, the composition is structured around a triangular form built from three principal branches representing Heaven, Earth, and Human. However, when there is an especially beautiful branch that feels too compelling to cut away, it is permitted to preserve one such branch within the arrangement.

In this work, that branch is the one forming the curling curve.

第三回五葉舎いけばな展が無事終了しました。
お越しくださった皆様、ありがとうございました。

個人作品は杜若を生けました。
自分から下生けなしの公開生け込みを企画しておきながら、いつもとは違うシチュエーションに苦戦し、時間的余裕がなく、ご来場の方と交流できなかったことが残念でした。

共通花材の伊吹杉は、杜若とは打って変わって、迷いなくすんなりと生けることができました。

At an ikebana exhibition organized by a classical ikebana appreciation group, I created an arrangement using Kakitsubata.

Although native to East Asia, the flower holds a particularly important place in Japanese culture, and became one of the defining motifs of the Rinpa school, especially in the works of Ogata Kōrin.

Within ikebana, numerous forms of expression and techniques for kakitsubata have been transmitted across different schools. Owing to the complexity of its construction process, it is regarded as one of the most technically demanding subjects in the tradition.

慌ただしく終了から1週間が経ちましたが、
ZARA銀座店でのインスタレーション「Bloom/Wave」は無事終了しました。

本作は、生成AIによるイメージを起点としながら、
読み取り・選択・再構成のプロセスを経て、物質的な構造として立ち上げられたものです。

その制作過程は、いけばなの即興性とは異なる時間軸の中で進行し、むしろ建築や家具に近いプロセスを通じて形成されました。
結果として、自身の建築といけばなを横断する立場が明確に現れたプロジェクトとなったように思います。

The installation “Bloom/Wave” at ZARA Ginza Store has concluded successfully.

This work originated from images generated through AI, and was developed into a physical structure through processes of reading, selection, and reconstruction.

The making process unfolded within a different temporal framework from the improvisational nature of ikebana, and was instead shaped through a process closer to that of architecture and furniture-making.
As a result, it became a project in which my position—working across architecture and ikebana—clearly emerged.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who visited, and to all those involved in making this project possible.

この度、ZARA「Sakura Seen By」第2弾として、銀座店にてインスタレーション《Bloom / Wave》を4月5日まで展示させていただいています。銀座にお越しの際は、ぜひご覧ください。

本作は、桜が街を包み込む瞬間に生まれる高揚感を捉え、葛飾北斎《神奈川沖浪裏》に見られる波のダイナミズムから着想を得たものです。
生成AIによって導き出されたイメージを起点とし、それを物理的な造形へと展開することで構成しています。

また、本作から派生したグラフィックを用いた限定カプセルコレクションが、オンラインおよび国内一部店舗にて展開されています。

A realized ikebana work utilizing generative AI

As part of the second edition of ZARA’s “Sakura Seen By,” my installation Bloom / Wave is currently on view at the Ginza store through April 5. If you are in the area, I would be glad if you could experience it in person.

This work captures the sense of uplift that emerges when cherry blossoms envelop the city, drawing inspiration from the dynamic waves depicted in Katsushika Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa.
Images generated through AI serve as the point of departure, which are then developed into physical forms.

In addition, a limited capsule collection incorporating graphics derived from this work is available online and at selected stores across Japan.

五葉舎の集まりで彼岸桜を生けました。

体前添え流しという技巧を要求される花型に対して、
ヒョロヒョロと掴みどころのない枝ぶりを、
あまり拘りすぎず、過度にコントロールもし過ぎず、
しかし大枠だけは外さないように、気楽な気持ちで生けました。

I arranged Higan-zakura (equinox cherry blossoms) at a gathering of Goyosha.
For a form that requires the technique known as Tai-mae-zoe-nagashi,
I worked with the thin, elusive branches
without becoming overly fixated on them or trying to control them too strictly.

私が所属する古典いけばな愛好グループ「五葉舎」の、第3回目となるいけばな展が5月10日(日)、京都新風館にて開催されます。皆様のご来場をお待ちしております。

このイメージは、伝統と現代の対話を探求する試みとして、浮世絵における花会の様子を参照し、過去2回の五葉舎いけばな展での作品を重ね、AIを用いて生成しました。

The 3rd Ikebana Exhibition by Goyosha, a classical ikebana enthusiasts’ group to which I belong, will be held on May 10th at ShinPuhKan, Kyoto. We look forward to your visit. *On the 9th, there will be a public ikebana demonstration.

This image was generated using AI, referencing scenes of flower gatherings depicted in ukiyo-e, layering works from our past two Goyosha Ikebana exhibitions, as a pursuit of dialogue between tradition and the present.
