本日もご来場ありがとうございました。

SUMMER SALEの名前でサンプルセールを開始しましたが、この数日で唐突に秋の気候に移り変わり驚いています。

会期中は、店頭で閲覧用として使用していた書籍や、輸送時に傷みが生じた輸入書を特別価格にてご提供いたします。日頃の感謝の気持ちも込めて、一部の希少本も期間限定の特別価格にてご案内します。

IACK Summer Sample Sale 2026 begins tomorrow, Saturday, September 5 at 11:00, both at the shop and online.

During the sale, we will offer a selection of books at special prices, including display copies that have been used for browsing in the shop and imported books that were damaged in transit.

A selection of rare books will also be available at special prices for a limited time.

Held only once a year, the sale is a chance not only to pick up titles you may have been considering, but also to discover books you might not otherwise come across.

アーティストの中には、ユニークな肩書きを持つ人物もいます。

フランス人アーティストのニコラ・フロックは、アーティストであると同時に、ダイバーとしての顔も持っています。

本書は、1995年の作品『Productive Writing』から2005年の映像作品まで、約10年間にわたるフロックの活動を包括的にまとめた作品集。チューブを用いたミニマルな作品や海中風景を捉えた写真作品など、異なる形式の作品が、一貫した有機的な思考のもとで展開されてきた過程をたどることができます。

日本でも京都市京セラ美術館や銀座メゾンエルメス フォーラムなどで作品を発表してきたフロック。その活動を、オランダのRoma Publicationsによる素晴らしいブックデザインとともにお楽しみください。

Some artists have rather unusual titles alongside their artistic practice.

French artist Nicolas Floc’h is not only an artist, but also a diver.

This book offers a comprehensive overview of roughly a decade of Floc’h’s practice, from his 1995 work Productive Writing through to video works made in 2005. From minimal works constructed with tubes to photographs of underwater landscapes, it traces how a wide range of forms developed through a consistent and organic line of thought.

Floc’h has also presented his work in Japan, including at the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art and Le Forum at Ginza Maison Hermès. This volume brings together his practice through the distinctive book design of the Dutch publisher Roma Publications.

A photobook by British photographer Nigel Shafran that has been one of IACK’s staple titles since we first opened.

The book has finally sold out at the publisher, but we have recently brought out from our archive a number of precious signed copies that we received directly from the artist on the occasion of “Nigel Shafran: Books 1995–2022,” an exhibition held at IACK in 2022.

It is a remarkable work that continues to reveal something new each time you return to it, becoming more compelling with every viewing.

本書は、フランス・トゥールーズのジャコバン修道院コンベンションセンターで、2017年に開催された展覧会「Le Ciel devant soi. Photographie et architecture religieuse」に合わせて刊行された展覧会カタログです。

建築そのものの造形や空間性に目を向けたものから、宗教施設を取り巻く風景や文化的背景を捉えたものまで、アプローチはさまざま。

A book bringing together eight European artists, each approaching churches and religious architecture from a different perspective.

Published on the occasion of the 2017 exhibition “Le Ciel devant soi. Photographie et architecture religieuse” at the Couvent des Jacobins in Toulouse, France, the catalogue presents a wide range of approaches to religious architecture.

Some works focus on architectural form and spatial experience, while others look at the landscapes and cultural contexts surrounding religious sites.

Although published as an exhibition catalogue, the book also works particularly well as an omnibus photobook, allowing the eight distinct bodies of work to be read alongside one another.

I on the Road / Weather Camera Self-Portraits by Tatu Gustafsson

フィンランド人アーティスト、タツ・グスタフソンによる写真集。

作家初の出版物となる本書は、フィンランド各地に設置された交通・気象観測カメラによって撮影された200枚のセルフポートレートを収録。

2012年にセルフポートレートの制作を始めたグスタフソンは、従来の写真制作における作家性に疑問を投げかけるため、カメラを所有せずに写真を制作する方法を模索していた。フィンランドの交通・気象観測カメラが12分ごとに撮影を行い、その画像をオンラインで公開していることを知った彼は、国内に点在する700台以上のカメラの前に自ら立つことで、セルフポートレートを制作することを思いつく。

毎月約1週間、車中生活を送りながらフィンランド各地を巡り、自動的に撮影されるカメラの前に身を置く。撮影のタイミングや構図を完全にはコントロールできない制作方法を受け入れることで、グスタフソンの姿は広大な風景のなかに、時に幽霊のような存在として記録されている。

A photobook by Finnish artist Tatu Gustafsson.

Gustafsson’s first publication brings together 200 self-portraits captured by traffic and weather cameras installed across Finland.

Gustafsson began making self-portraits in 2012 while searching for ways to produce photographs without owning a camera, questioning conventional notions of authorship in photography. After discovering that Finland’s traffic and weather cameras automatically take photographs every 12 minutes and make the images available online, he came up with the idea of placing himself in front of more than 700 cameras scattered throughout the country.

Spending around one week each month living out of his car, Gustafsson travelled across Finland and positioned himself before these automatically operated cameras. By embracing a process in which he could never fully control the timing or composition of each photograph, his figure is recorded within the vast Finnish landscape, at times appearing almost like a ghost.
