“Yuki Gonoi” ＠ GALLERY ART POINT.bis
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　AGonoi’s work draws inspiration from the natural world and everyday materials to express a truly unique vision.
Focusing on the inherent softness and versatility of fabric, she has consistently used it as her primary medium. By incorporating cotton batting, wire, or utilizing the elasticity of stitched threads, she breathes life into her creations through three-dimensional depth and dynamic movement. Furthermore, she enriches the expressive quality of her pieces by piercing the fabric, applying vibrant colors, and bonding various unconventional materials.
Her inspiration springs from the strange yet endearing creatures that dwell in the corners of a garden, those lurking in the air, or those resting quietly—or perhaps vividly—beneath the water. From these origins, she continues to expand her creative scope from two-dimensional works to sculpture and large-scale installations.
In this exhibition, the theme centers on creatures that float freely or proliferate through the space—simple in form yet bursting with color. Utilizing the tactile quality of fabric, she aims to transform the environment itself into a single, cohesive work of art. Her work seems to echo a heartfelt wish: “In a space inhabited by these brightly colored beings, I want viewers to freely imagine their own stories, find a sense of healing, and feel a renewed surge of energy.

“ Ishiki Thothrisa 2026 - Beyond the Moment - ”＠ GALLERY ART POINT

Ishiki Thothrisa’s work begins with “words.” Because her paintings are created from words that emerge from within, the finished works naturally embody a message, and the paintings and words resonate organically with one another. Through repeated experiences of her mind being untangled during the creative process, painting has become a “medium for connecting with her true self.” An attitude that embraces everything—sorrow and joy, murkiness and radiance—as the colors of life runs through her entire body of work. Her works are based on acrylic paint and employ a unique technique of layering various materials to create a three-dimensional texture and a rich, shimmering palette that glows with the play of light. The canvas, which changes its expression depending on the viewer’s position and the light, contains both stillness and movement simultaneously, constructing a sense of depth and spatiality.

The theme of this exhibition is “The Colors of Our Potential.” We are part of the scenery that colors the world. Amid countless hues, we may sometimes lose sight of our own colors or compare ourselves to others. However, in the moment we stand before the artwork, we quietly resonate with our inherent potential and recall our true radiance. The fleeting “now” woven by the past and the future. This exhibition aims to offer an experience that allows us to rediscover the beauty of that moment.

This exhibition showcases a diverse range of expressions—including figurative, abstract, and realistic works—by a selection of mid-career and veteran artists chosen by our gallery. “Inscape-うちなる眺め-” ＠ GALLERY ART POINT.bis

The materials used on the work itself stand out on Japanese traditional paintings, there is a clarity in the works as if the pigments were like the soft light from the paintings which creates atmosphere to the work of art, and that is the major difference between Japanese paintings and Western traditional oil paintings.
Japanese traditional paintings have been developed in an unique way in Japan, but there is a certain influence of Western oil paintings such as putting a lot of layers of paint or abstract expressionism in contemporary Japanese artworks. There is also a way of making artworks using traditional Japanese painting techniques as well as contemporary ways of working, and this could possibly lead Japanese contemporary art world amongst other movements in the world.
In this exhibition called “Inscape”, we are focusing on Japanese paintings and we have selected artists who seek the aesthetics in the world of Japanese paintings. Each artist visualise their own “Inscape” using rock pigment on the surface of the works. The main concept of this exhibition is to show the impact of Japanese paintings in contemporary art scenes and the directions and possibilities of the Japanese art in the next generations.

When we create a work of art, fragments of memory are unconsciously engraved within it.
The choice of color, the stroke of the brush, the texture of the material – these all resonate with fragments of landscapes and emotions from the past, and they take shape.
This exhibition, “piece – Fragments of Memory”, is a space where countless such fragments come together and are reborn as new expressions. It is precisely because memories are vague and uncertain that they can transform freely and begin to take on new meanings within the work. Rather than confining the past, they reconstruct it and, by interacting with the viewer’s memories, connect to an as yet unseen story.
The act of creating is the act of picking up the fragments of lost time, and works are crystallized fragments of memory. Through this exhibition, we hope to share the experience of fragments resonating with each other and leading to new memories

Stillness and Vitality: Two Perspectives on the Essence of the King of Beasts

For centuries, the tiger has been a subject of both awe and admiration, a symbol of resilient spirit throughout history. In this exhibition, two Chinese-born artists, Lu Zhongping and MAI, delve into the very core of this creature's life force through their unique techniques and sensibilities.

Lu Zhongping uses heavy, layered oil paints to carve the weight of the tiger’s soul onto the canvas. In his acrylic works, he fuses realistic depiction with pop expressions, capturing a surging, contemporary energy and a vibrant sense of life.

In contrast, MAI utilizes the delicate medium of colored pencils to pursue the tiger’s form with staggering density. The meticulous realism, down to each individual strand of fur, confronts the viewer with a silent yet overwhelming power.
Oil, acrylic, and colored pencil—we invite you to experience this interplay of textures and the powerful "heartbeat" of the tiger, as captured through the distinct lenses of these two artists.

“Path 2026” ＠ GALLERY ART POINT

The title of this exhibition, ”Path”, means locus, track, course, journey, etc.
In the history of art in Japan and around the world, there is a path that art has followed, such as the flow of art, changes in style, and the historical background (relationship with politics, economy, beliefs, customs, society, etc.) that gave birth to artists and works. As you can see, each artist has a history of creating works. For artists, production activities are a path, and the works that are produced in the process of evolving and changing every moment as we face art every day will be the heart of the artist from time to time. It can be said that it is a path that represents. Over the years, the work will become an element of their path.
In this exhibition, we will exhibit various mental expressions created at the passing points of each artist’s life, and trace the path of their mind through the world of works expressed by various approaches and styles. Think about the artistic journey that they have taken through their work, and enjoy a moment of communication with them.

“Abstraction 2026” ＠ GALLERY ART POINT.bis

Abstract art emerged in Europe in the early 20th century, with Wassily Kandinsky often credited as its founder around 1910. The movement later flourished in the United States during the 1940s–50s. Art critic Clement Greenberg argued that by stripping away unnecessary elements and reducing painting to its essential form, modernism would reach its purest expression—a view that greatly influenced the art world.
More than half a century later, some now question whether abstraction has reached its limits. In Japan today, figurative works with strong narratives or anime-like styles dominate, while abstract painting has faded from prominence.
This exhibition revisits the meaning and potential of abstraction in our time, exploring what art and painting truly are. Featuring four selected artists who continue to pursue new possibilities in abstract expression, it highlights the diversity and vitality of abstraction today.
Artists who receive strong recognition in this show may be invited to future solo or curated exhibitions, as well as international projects by Art Point.

This exhibition is the final chapter (epilogue) that concludes this year, but the final chapter does not mean the end, but the beginning of a new story, a prologue.
For this exhibition our gallery has selected talented artists, whose works seem to be suitable for decorating this final chapter (epilogue). We would like to present a new values and directions for the art that will lead to the prologue of the next story by introducing artists who are not bound by existing values and frameworks.

“MOENO exhibition” ＠ GALLERY ART POINT.bis

Moeno is a Japanese-style painter who focuses on grasses and flowers, pursuing a decorative mode of expression that makes full use of line and negative space. Her aim is to move beyond realism and depict the subtle tremors that lie deep within memory and emotion. One critic has noted that her style “possesses a universal beauty while evoking the delicacy characteristic of Japanese art.” In particular, her supple lines and her deliberate use of unpainted space reveal a unique aesthetic sensibility reminiscent of Redon’s decorative panels.

The “ma”—the intervals and spaces formed by the contours of branches and blossoms—gives the viewer room for imagination, allowing untold stories to unfold within the mind. This serene worldview captures fleeting glimmers and the lingering traces of passing time as a single “landscape.” The theme of this solo exhibition, Echoes of Light, emerges as a natural extension of such sensibilities.

In this exhibition, she explores materials and techniques rarely used in traditional Japanese painting, such as irregularly shaped panels, effect pigments, and screen fabric. The irregular panels gently unravel the boundaries of the pictorial surface, allowing light and color to diffuse more freely. The translucency of the screen material enhances the effects of back-painting, creating a delicate, silk-like appearance. Through the universal motif of grasses and flowers, her work seeks to let even the invisible—light, sound, and atmosphere—resonate between line and empty space, establishing a world of artworks imbued with quiet and profound afterglow.
