The exhibition “Yoko Matsumoto: The Day I Saw the Evening Star” is currently on view at Fuchu Art Museum. Tomorrow, Saturday, June 13, a 45-minute documentary featuring extensive interviews with Matsumoto will be screened twice—at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM—in the lecture room on the first floor. There will also be a talk by the film’s directors between screenings, so please come to watch it along with the exhibition!

元ヴァンジ彫刻庭園美術館副館長を務めていらした岡野晃子さんによる書籍「手でふれてみる世界 美術館におけるアクセシビリティの現在」の刊行記念展と岡野さんがディレクションを務めた映画『手でふれてみる世界』(令和8年度児童福祉文化賞受賞作品) の上映会が、中野の GALLERY & EVENT SPACE ありかHole にて開催されております。
明日5月30日(土)の上映会 (17時〜) のあとにおこなわれる岡野さんとのアフタートーク (18時〜) に、彫刻家の長谷川さちが登壇いたします。これまで岡野さんが企画された手でふれてみる彫刻展に参加している作家とのトークは必聴です。トークゲストには同じく彫刻家の北川太郎さんも。映画はアートを鑑賞するうえでの大切な気づきを与えてくださるすばらしい作品となっております。実際に彫刻にふれて鑑賞できるワークショップも開催され、映画・トーク・ワークショップとお楽しみいただけますと、アート鑑賞の新たな扉が開かれるはずです。ぜひお出かけくださいませ。

An exhibition celebrating the publication of "Le mani toccano il mondo—A World to Touch with Your Hands: The Current State of Accessibility in Art Museums,” written by Koko Okano—former Deputy Director of the Vangi Sculpture Garden Museum—and a screening of the film "A World to Touch" (winner of the 2026 Child Welfare Culture Award), directed by Ms. Okano, are currently being held at GALLERY & EVENT SPACE Arika Hole in Nakano.
Sculptor Sachi Hasegawa will join Ms. Okano for an after-screening talk (starting at 6pm) following tomorrow’s screening on Saturday, May 30 (starting at 5pm). This will be a must-hear talk featuring an artist who has participated in the “Touching Sculpture” exhibitions curated by Mr. Okano. Another guest speaker will be sculptor Taro Kitagawa. The film is a wonderful work that offers important insights into how to appreciate art. A workshop where you can actually touch and experience the sculptures will also be held. By enjoying the film, the talk, and the workshop together, you are sure to discover new ways of appreciating art.

本日、90歳（卒寿）の誕生日を迎える松本陽子。明日、5月23日（土）からは、いよいよ府中市美術館にて「松本陽子 宵の明星を見た日」展が開幕いたします。意外にも作家にとって美術館での初の大規模個展となる本展は、1950年代末（藝大卒業制作）から、昨年末より手がけ年始に完成した150号の新作に至るまで、画業65年を超える松本の選りすぐりの作品が一挙展観されます。これまであまり発表をしてこなかった貴重な初期作品、また松本の代名詞といえるピンクのアクリル画群はもちろん、ここ20年ほど取り組んでいる油彩画からは、ブラック、グリーン、最新のブルーシリーズがご覧いただけます。それら見応え十分な作品に加え、会場内では作家の制作・インタビュー映像も公開。みなさまぜひ足をお運びくださいませ。

Yoko Matsumoto, who celebrates her 90th - Sotsuju birthday today, will have a solo exhibition 'Yoko Matsumoto: The Day I Saw the Evening Star', which finally opens tomorrow, 23 May at Fuchu Art Museum in Tokyo. Surprisingly, this exhibition marks the artist’s first major solo exhibition at art museums. It brings together a selection of works spanning Matsumoto’s career as a painter of over 65 years, from the late 1950s (her graduation work at the Tokyo University of the Arts) to the very latest work she worked on late last year and completed early this January. In addition to rare early works that have seldom been exhibited before, and the series of pink acrylic paintings that have become Matsumoto's iconic body of work, the exhibition also features her oil paintings from the past twenty years, including her ‘Black', ‘Green' and latest ‘Blue' series. Alongside these compelling works, the venue will also be screening videos of the artist at work and in interviews. We warmly invite you to come and visit.
