Vande Mataram , a very popular national song written by Shri Bankin Chandra Chattopadhyay was given its first musical setting by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore who sang to an audience for the first time in 1896 in the Indian National Congress Session.
Over time, multiple musical versions of Vande Mataram have been composed by other musicians (for films, orchestras, classical adaptations, and dance productions).
2025-26 commemorates 150 years of Vande Mataram with nationwide celebrations. It is a tribute by Indian Classical Dance Troupe to this immemorial song through a dance.
