Services are designed & led by Ruth (Sōshin) Lionberger. Lionberger has spent 20 years in Japan, working in education and international relations. She began studying the Way of Tea in 2000, and was granted the tea name, Sōshin, in 2010. Lionberger was enrolled in the research course at the Urasenke Gakuen Chadō Senmon Gakkō in Kyoto. She teaches the Way of Tea to Japanese and non-Japa

nese　audiences, in both English and Japanese. She is particularly interested in coaching Japanese tea teachers to effectively introduce & teach tea to non-Japanese. Lionberger has held lectures & demonstrations for Yokohama City University, FEW Japan, Diamond Princess Cruises, and the University of Nebraska, among others.
アメリカのネブラスカ州出身でライアンバーガーは２０年ぐらい日本にすんでいました。教育と国際交流が専門。２０００年で茶道に入門、２０１０年「宗心」の茶名をいただいきました。２０１５年４月から２０１６年３月まで、京都で裏千家学園茶道専門学校の研究科コースを修了しています。日本語でも、英語でも日本人と外国人に茶道を教えられます。茶道を外国人に教える方法を日本の先生方にも指導させていただきます。デモンストレーションやレクチャーは：横浜市立大学、FEW ジャパン、ダイヤモンドプリンセスクルーズ、ネブラスカ州立大学。

We are a fun, international group, earnestly studying the Way of Tea.

Lessons are in both English and Japanese.

Students choose either a 2x/month pattern or a 3x/month pattern.

Locations: Nihonbashi (Tuesdays) or Takenotsuka (Sundays/Thursdays/Fridays)

A first-degree Urasenke instructor from the US, who has lived in Japan for over 25 years. Her career is in education and international relations.

Tea Ceremony, or Chanoyu, is much more than tea. It is an excellent way to learn about Japanese culture. Tea, sweets, flowers, incense, history, language, poetry, crafts, cuisine, and more are all part of studying Tea.

–Inclusive, international tea-ceremony lessons
