“Faye Toogood Studio × Noritake, Kiln” design transfer to the art tapestry. Dyed work for NORITAKE, Milan Design Week 2026.design.collection

Typically stencil dyeing is cutting out the graphics from the paper to bring a pattern into fabrics; however, for this work, placing the artist’s drawing graphics as the stencil and put rice paste all over the fabrics to resist the color.
Layered three sheets of ramie fabric and applied the stencils one by one, carefully positioning them to precisely replicate the original design.

ミラノ・デザインウィーク2026に出展されているNORITAKE .design.collection さんのタペストリーを製作させていただきました。アーティストさんのコラボ作品のデザインを型染め+正藍染で表現しています。
普段は型を切り抜いて模様を浮き出すのですが、今回は絵の表現を型で作り、外枠に型糊を置いて色を抜きました。3枚の苧麻生地を合わせて絵の通りになるように一つずつ型を置いています。

ミラノ・デザインウィーク2026に出展されているNORITAKE .design.collection さんの会場の装飾としてカーテンを染めました。
縫製前の生地は300cmの高さがあり、また横幅が150cmのため、グラデーションを出すのに色々な工夫を施しました。また同時に型糊を溶かさないように注意をしながら慎重に製作しました。

窓から差し込む光がロゴを綺麗に写し出してくれています🪟✨☀️

Introducing our workshop items! 🌿🧺

- Kinchaku pouch (h**p cotton)
Very useful as a traveling pouch or also one point fashion as a bag!

- Furoshiki bag (h**p cotton)
Foldable bag. The shape is unique, cool, and cute, you design it yourself! Also you can tie and adjust the size depends on the items you bring.

You can select your favorite items at the indigo dye workshop! Come join us on 25th or 26tg of April, it will be hold at 💐

【WORKSHOP Open Call】

Bring your own clothes/fabrics or pick your favorite items and let’s dye with Japanese traditional indigo! 🌿🫧

The indigo can achieve a muted and deep indigo color like how Japanese people wore in past (15c-18c) at the time of samurai.

Indigo dyeing liquid itself is not blue; the color emerges through the fermentation process as the components of indigo dissolve and undergo a chemical bond with oxygen. The workshop is the only opportunity to experience the color changing rapidly right before your eyes as soon as it is pulled from the indigo vat.

The instructor is an artisan of indigo from Japan. You will get the professional assist from the artisan.

Join the workshop and feel the breath of our indigo.
We hope to see you!

・藍染に関わる作業全般のサポート

インターン（無給）
交通費別途支給（上限1,000円/1日）

・20〜40歳（年齢はあくまで目安）
・面接時に工房へ来られる方
・国籍問わず（日本語日常会話レベル必須）

◯優遇条件

・英語で日常会話ができる方
・SNSやホームページなどのパソコン作業が得意な方
