Art at the Park is an initiative that aims to promote and encourage the local art scene in Amman by providing artists, musicians, and writers a space to unleash their creativity in an interactive and collaborative setting. This is a first of its kind cultural fair where locals get to grab a bite and
experience open-air activities such as enjoying live performances by local
musicians and appreciati
ng artists’ work within a range of art mediums such as chalk on the floor, live painting, live clay sculpting and many more. The event will be composed of 3 main components; an interactive creative space with both live music and live arts, handcraft booths and local startup vendors, and finally an array of delicious food outlets offering organic and heritage ingredients. - Create a unique & memorable experience through a blend of Art, Music & Culture.
- Provide young artists writers and musicians the opportunity to showcase their talents to a significant number of attendees, increasing awareness of Arts, Culture & Music.
- Create an interactive setting for creative civic engagement.
- Offer local vendors the opportunity to exhibit their handmade, Jordanian heritage, and startup products.
- Share literature with the public in collaboration with local libraries and book vendors.
- Promote creativity, innovation in arts & music through street performances and live acts, planning an artistic event, provide a networking platform for the creative scene in Amman, and execute onsite workshops. Project Description
Art at the Park is an event that is composed of three main components described below; 1- An interactive creative space, 2- Local Handcraft Booths, and 3- Food Market. The execution of these components in unison will ensure the proof of concept, and achieve the above project goals successfully.
1- An Interactive Creative Space
Includes two different types of entertainment, live arts & musical acts. Live Arts; the selected venue will cater to different artists, whom each will have an area to work on their art in front of visitors and will also be able to sell other pieces created by them onsite. Musical Acts; aims to give a platform for young and upcoming musicians in Amman. The event aims to attract triple digit number of visitors which will allow these musicians exposure, and broaden their network around the city.
2- Local Hand Craft Booths
Expected to host 30 local vendors selling easy to carry, hand made crafts that are produced in Jordan to support the small, micro & startup businesses. These could be anything from homewares, clothing, organic made soaps, and recycled products that help the environment as well as provide creative solutions to common problems.
3- Food Market
Showcases Amman’s upcoming food and beverage vendors. It will focus on the startup businesses that offer healthy alternatives to fast food, and coffee shops that source organically farmed beans and ingredients. Boutique vendors will have the advantage of reaching out to the creative segment of Amman and market their product. Another point is that we could reach out to Jordan’s bedouin tribes if they are interested in participating. This will give us a chance to create a fusion of Jordan’s heritage and the newly evolving culture.
