"Paint my emotions" is a project that was designed
to raise awareness towards Palestinian and Svrian
refugee children's mental health. In 2021, the
UNHCR ( ) reported that
42% of refugees are children under the age of 18.
Research consistently suggested an increased level
of psychological morbidity among refugee children,
particularly post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
We provided psychoeducational training to a group
of refugee children to help them better understand
and express their emotions through art. This mural
represents the descriptions that refugee children
associated with different emotions.
