Konte was a fabulous immersion in our rich Jamaican folktales and poetry.
The Jaiku Team and I had the pleasure of being in the company of so many talented and wonderful people. The space was bubbling with stories and exciting discussions about our literary landscape and just life in general. A grand time was most certainly had.

Phenomenal wordsmith and Jaiku Co-founder Kacy Garvey .garvey delivered a diverse mix of poetry rooted in her Caribbean identity and so did our beloved Aunty Amina as she delved into Anancy stories that force one to really pause and think on life. Their storytelling and poetry was elevated with the music of multi-instrumentalist M'Bala Mgabo.
What illuminated tales we're unearthed under the Lignum Vitae tree.

We look forward to more occasions where we can strengthen our relationships with France and other nations while showcasing and celebrating our rich cultural heritage and stories.

Friday night was an adventure for the books. Poetry always takes me on interesting journeys.

I went to Johns Town to celebrate and chant with Tanisha Bent and her family in her backyard. I had the honor of trodding road and trading tales with Malachi Dermot Smith and my namesake Osheen Wright.

We we're joined in rhythm by my Jaiku Poetry co-founder .garvey Kacy Garvey and Ras Takura among several other sensational wordsmiths.

The bonfire upon which we roasted marshmallows was hot but couldn't match the intensity of what we dropped on the mic.

Big up champion poetess and MC Tanisha Bent everytime!

This is my second week in a row being at Belair School. Last week, I played a part in their High School's STEAM Career Day activities as a poet. This week, I had the immense pleasure of reading for the students f their Grade 3 Prep School class.

As part of Read Across ๐Ÿ“š Jamaica ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ฒ Day activities, I was invited to read "Bre'r Anancy and the Magic Pot" written by V. Steve Russell and published by Brer Anancy Press. .

The students and I had an absolute blast unearthing this hilarious and colorful Anancy tale. They we're very curious, excited and engaged and I matched their energy with passionate and animated delivery to make our interaction fun.

Huge thanks to Steve Russell of Brer Anancy Press and Ms. Georgina Brown of Belair Prepatory for facilitating this fantastic opportunity which empowered me to spend time with our country's brilliant young people. This was my first time participating in Read Across Jamaica Day and it certainly won't be the last!

April 26,2026
"Birdshooting" Studio Session

From ideation to creation. Such is the magical alchemy of artistry. I give maximum respect and thanks to the impressively talented and accomplished creatives I have the honor of collaborating with along this journey.

It is indeed a joy to craft word, power and sound with O'Maro Bekelรฉ and Massy The Creator Michael Massy Dacosta . Much gratitude to my Jaiku Poetry brother Delbert-Inkaz VybNation Cespedes for the support of documenting the session and adding invaluable input to help elevate the expression and message that shall soon grace the world.

The journey of a poem doesn't have to end with the period at the lower corner of the page. This piece shall take three-dimensional shape and find itself beckoned on stages. I'm excited to share the evolution of the work with you all. Stay tuned!

On Tuesday March 17,2026, Xgzabeher and I we're "supposed" to be on a flight to Sint Marteen en route to the CariCon Poetry Slam 2026 in Curacao. But it was not to be.

Instead, I was at Regardless representing Team Jaiku and making my contribution to Kingston Poetry Week resonate.

I'm happy we we're delayed in our movement as it was clear this is where I was meant to be on that night: at Talk Di Tings talkin' di tings with maximum potency. Life puts you WHERE you're needed WHEN you need to be there.

I was very privileged to have made an appearance in the capacity of Jaiku Poetry co-director at today's media launch of the Read. Speak. Lead. National Youth Empowerment Project initiated by JCDC's Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Brithney Clarke .

My co-founder Kacy .garvey and I had a terrific time performing, networking and showcasing our services at our booth today.

I'm really happy with how my work was received and I'm just blessed to know that I have pieces that we're so fitting for the occasion. Much more performances and movements to come! Look out! Mi OUTSIDE!!!

Britton Wright emerged from behind the stage and made his presence properly felt and heard at Redemption Fest 2025 held at Emancipation Park.

Multi award-winning writer and fellow poet Kwame McPherson was the man originally called upon for the spoken word segment, but he passed the baton to Britton in his absence and boy did he take it home!

He kept the audience captive with 3 selections from his catalog, delivering a tight 10-minute set of potent word, sound, and power.

Jaiku Poetry are grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of what was a spectacular evening of top-class Jamaican cultural curators and creatives showcasing and celebrating our artistic talents at the highest level.

We must extend a huge thank you to Mr. Kwame McPherson for making Britton's presence at the event possible. We also have to big up JCDC , PBCJ , Emancipation Park and their partners for creating a platform for celebrating the beauty of Jamaican liberation through diverse artistic expressions.

Big up also to Christopher Johnny Daley for his top-notch MCeeing on the evening!
