A fork as a bookmark? Sophia clearly moves differently 🍴📖

We asked readers at ACLE about the strangest thing they’ve ever used as a bookmark, and Sophia’s answer was definitely unexpected. One could say she devours her favourite reads 😂

This proves that when saving the page matters, anything can rise to the occasion.

A random object as a bookmark? Not on 's watch.

Asked the weirdest thing she’s ever used as a bookmark, her answer made one thing very clear: she would much rather find an actual bookmark... or bend the page if she must.

Some readers improvise. Others have standards.

Asked to describe the outfit as a book genre, the answer reached beyond style alone 🌿📖

With African and Arawak influence at the centre of the response, this one made it clear that style can tell its own story too.

A lovely little ACLE moment, and a reminder that the stories people wear can be just as interesting as the ones they read.

Two authors. Two lines. One participant doing her best to take it from there 😄📚

There is something especially fun about watching the moment between hearing a line and deciding how to finish it. Even when the wording takes its own path, the laughter and recognition come through clearly.

A lovely little ACLE moment, full of personality and good spirit.

A paper bag as a bookmark? Honestly… resourceful. 😂📖

We asked readers at the Africa Caribbean Literary Exchange one simple question: what’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever used as a bookmark? After some thought Kevin gave his surprising response, a paper bag!

Turns out, when the page matters enough, anything can become a bookmark.

Asked to describe her outfit as a book genre, her answer was Afro Urban Romance.

And honestly, she made the case for it beautifully. From summer love to chic Black girl energy, the response had a softness and confidence that made the whole thing feel vivid from the start.

It was one of many moments that showed how the Africa Caribbean Literary Exchange extended beyond the page, with style, imagination, and personality all becoming part of the story.

A line from Patsy, read aloud by Nicole Dennis-Benn, and the participant picks it up from there. 📖✨

The response takes its own wording, but the meaning lands so well that the whole moment opens up into laughter and smiles. There is something especially nice about watching that kind of exchange happen between a writer and a reader.

A really lovely moment from
