A true pleasure and honour, we thank Her Excellency Marianne Ziss, Ambassador of France to Jamaica, for her extended invitation to our team, JAIKU, to participate in and share in the experience of Konte.

Konte, the art of storytelling, made room for our founder, Kacy Garvey, to share curated poems.

It was our pleasure for our team to meet and interact with these highly accomplished individuals, exchanging ideas while celebrating our vibrant folktales and poetry.

How does a language die? At the heart of silence, when stories are no longer told, when voices are muted, and when heritage is left unspoken. Konte reminds us that storytelling is not just art; it is survival, memory, and the lifeblood of culture.

Royal African Soldier Ras Takura is a very strong advocate for natural food and sustainable farming. He pushed that and many other conscious messages in his work delivered on Friday night at Brawta Backard Poetry.

His energy is always electric and captivating. Its always a joy watching this militant lion in action. He is a true Dub Warrior.

We were at Brawta. Where were you? This is what you missed: vibrant, raw Jamaican poetry rooted in unapologetically authentic energy and movement.

Right in Tanisha's Tanisha Real Bent backyard in Johns Town. We definitely communed and shook the ground. Next year will be even bigger and better!

Osheen Wright on her day spent at Dunoon Technical today:

Great leaders are readers and great readers are leaders. That was the message radiating throughout the Dunoon Technical High School's Reading Club Launch today under the theme:- Read To Lead.

I had the privilege of partaking in the day's events alongside Wise Wurdz as we proudly represented JAIKU Poetry.

I led a presentation on "How To Read Poetry" then I demonstated with a poetry reading of one of my pieces while Wise Wurdz delivered impactful poetry pieces that deeply connected with the audience.

Moments like these remind me of the great role poetry plays in building great readers and leaders through teaching, healing and giving a voice to the voiceless.

Greatful for this opportunity to build the next generation of leaders.

Vulnerability was definitely a strong theme at Talk Di Tings. Multi-dimensional creative Angele Smith showed up and put several of his talents on display.

As if having great vocals and 🎸 skills weren't enough, he also had several of his exquisite paintings and jewelry on sale.

He serenaded us with his sweet, soulful music and offered a refreshing departure from the storytelling and poetry on offer.

Angele made multiple appearances at our events during Kingston Poetry Week and we are happy he came out to showcase his talents and support us. Big up!

The ever-flavorful Simone Dewar blessed the Talk Di Tings stage with a very personal and vulnerable sharing of her journey of self-love and boundary-setting through one of her very first poems "Likkle Simone".
