On 25th November, Soroptimist International Jersey will stand alongside sister clubs around the world to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls, launching 16 Days of Activism.

Join them for a march through town on Saturday 22nd November, starting at Wests Centre at 11:30am. Wear something orange to show support and solidarity. We’re honoured that Kate Wright, CEO of Freeda, will join the walk and speak at the end.

The Fort Regent Dome and Town Hall will glow orange between 25th November and 10th December to raise awareness of this global issue.

Everyone is welcome—let’s walk together for a safer future for women and girls.

💜✨ Fort Regent Dome Shines Purple for ! ✨💜

Tonight, we’re lighting up the Fort Regent dome in purple to celebrate — a global movement dedicated to accessibility, inclusion, and recognising the value and contribution of disabled people.

By lighting the dome, we’re proud to stand alongside organisations, businesses, and communities across Jersey (and around the world!) who are celebrating the importance of accessibility for our disabled community.

Accessibility isn’t just about buildings — it’s about creating spaces and experiences where everyone feels welcome, valued, and included. We are shining our lights to highlight that together, we can build a safer, more inclusive community here in Jersey, where everyone can belong and take part.

October is Dysautonomia Awareness Month and today, Saturday 25th October is Postural Tachycardia Syndrome Awareness Day. The Fort Regent Dome is lit in purple to support this day.

Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) is a debilitating condition that can affect people of any age, and often first presents in teens and young adults. PoTS is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system and therefore can affect many body systems. Symptoms include tachycardia, dizziness, breathlessness, chest pain, fainting, exercise intolerance, gastrointestinal issues, severe fatigue, and many others.

23/10/2025

Today, Thursday 23 October is Water Night 2025 and Fort Regent Dome is lit blue in support. It is a day to pause, notice, and rethink our everyday water habits.

The annual event asks households and businesses to join a symbolic ‘water pause’ by turning off taps between 17:00 and 22:00, encouraging everyone to think about how they use water.

With rainfall levels 30% lower than last year and 20% below the five-year average, Jersey Water is asking Islanders to make small but vital changes to their daily routines to save water. Although the rain so far this week has been welcome, a lot more is needed to recover reservoir storage levels, after one of the driest springs on record, a long hot summer and below average rainfall so far this autumn. These factors combined have led to the Island’s total water storage currently standing at just 57% and falling quickly. In the last two weeks alone, levels have dropped by 5%, the equivalent of 117 million litres of water.
