🎉 Family Flumes Are Back This Weekend at Active Aquasplash! 🎉

We're delighted to announce that Family Flumes will be available at Active Aquasplash this weekend from 11:30am to 3:30pm on both Saturday and Sunday. We plan to run these sessions at the same times every weekend going forward.

During the half-term break, Family Flumes will also be available Monday to Friday from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.

These fun-filled sessions transform our leisure pool into an exciting aquatic adventure, complete with wave pool features and thrilling flumes. With both a single-person flume and a giant tyre-ride flume, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

To help guarantee your space, we encourage you to book in advance using the Active App or by calling 449888.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family for some flume-filled fun! Please collect your wrist bands from reception on arrival.

We are pleased to confirm that Active Sports facilities will be safe to reopen as planned from 3pm today,
including:

Les Quennevais Sports Centre (Please note pool closures due at 4pm due to Tigers Open Meet event)
Springfield Sports Centre
Aquasplash
Oakfield Sports Centre

If you are planning to visit the facilities today please take care as debris from the storm is still being cleared in some areas.

Due to the severe weather conditions forecast as part of Storm Austen, all facilities will remain closed on Friday until 3:00pm.

This decision has been made to help ensure the safety of our customers, staff and facilities while the worst of the high winds pass.

We intend to reopen from 3:00pm, subject to a safety assessment being completed and it being safe to do so.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

✨ New Class: Join Roxy on Mondays at 6:15pm in the Studio at AquaSplash for Qigong, starting Monday 26th October! ✨

Qigong supports health by strengthening ligaments and bones while maintaining balanced energy.

Sessions use flowing movement and breath to boost calm, flexibility, circulation, and lymphatic detox, leaving you grounded, refreshed, and re-energised. Suitable for all levels.

✨ Come along to Ai Chi with Fay Johnson, Tuesdays at 12:20pm and Wednesdays at 7pm: is a gentle aquatic exercise class inspired by Tai Chi and Qi Gong, practiced in warm, shallow water.

Soothing, flowing movements are combined with focused breath work and relaxing music to create a deep sense of calm, balance, and restoration for both body and mind.

We understand that having to book ahead for a swim can feel frustrating, especially if you're used to just turning up.

At the moment, we're asking all swimmers to book before visiting while we assess the impact of bringing our Active and AquaSplash membership groups together. We also need to carefully manage pool access around school swimming, private hires and group exercise programmes, as public swimming isn't always available throughout the day.

Booking in advance helps us make sure there's space available before you travel and avoids the disappointment of being turned away. If you’d prefer book at reception, you can still do this, but we would still encourage you to check the App, or online timetable before visiting.

Please note that before 7:30am, a valid booking is required to enter the building, as membership cards and RFID tags will only open the turnstiles with a booking linked to them, and reception is not staffed before this time.

We'll keep this under review and, if demand allows, we'll look at whether this requirement can be relaxed in the future. Thank you for your understanding

✨ Come along to Hydro Pole with Sam and Fay, Mondays at 2pm, Thursdays at 7:15pm and Sundays at 9:30am: a fun, feel-good water workout that brings a playful twist to pool fitness.

Using a specially designed pole fixed to the pool floor, you’ll move, stretch and strengthen your body with the support and resistance of the water. Expect a mix of strength, balance and core work that’s low-impact but surprisingly effective.
