Saturday 6th June | 10am to 12pm | CCA Galleries, 10 Hill Street, St Helier

Taking place within the gallery space at CCA Galleries International, this workshop offers time to slow down, draw inspiration from the artworks around you and use them as a starting point for writing, with simple guided prompts.

You’ll be invited to respond to what you notice, follow your attention and see where the writing takes you.

Open to everyone. No writing experience is needed, just a willingness to begin.
Please bring your favourite journal and pen.
Refreshments are included.

INTRODUCING… ✨

PAIGE LE GEYT

The artist behind PLEASE TOUCH - our current exhibition running until May 29th, open Monday to Friday 12-6pm.

Paige Le Geyt is an artist who uses abstract forms and texture to create an interactive and immersive art experience, influenced by her neurodivergence, OCD and Autism.

Based in Jersey, Paige began developing her practice during her time on the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Highlands College. Encouraged by her tutors, she progressed to an Artist In Residence role at the college, where she continued refining her techniques and concepts.
Paige uses an array of materials, carefully selected and applied to create unique tactile surfaces, that are not only allowed but intended to be touched, inviting engagement from the viewer.

…in Galleries we are taught to look but not touch in her debut solo exhibition page Le Geyt overturns that convention through tactile sculptures, immersive installations and personal reflections on life with OCD and autism.

She hopes the exhibition will encourage people to think differently about how Artist experienced particularly for those who may engage with the World in a more sensory or non-traditional ways. Neurodivergence is different for everyone she says there are so many unique experiences to be understood when people are listened to and given the platform to express their inner world.

The exhibition continues until Friday 29th May and we are open to the public Monday - Friday 12-6pm.

JOURNALING WITH ELIZABETH TALBOT ✍️

Elizabeth .talbot is a writer, creative facilitator and long time journal keeper with a background in art and design. She has worked across a range of creative areas, including visual merchandising, stained-glass design, interiors and storytelling. Writing has always been a constant in her work, helping her make sense of things and discover what lies beneath the surface.

Set in the creative environment of CCA Galleries International, this session encourages participants to respond to the artworks around them and use them as inspiration for their own writing. It’s about noticing, responding and exploring where the writing leads.

Refreshments will be available and there is no journaling experience needed just yourself, a journal and your favourite pen.
