🌏 An inspiring journey of songs through the ages via the magic of the human voice. Join us for a very special concert, tomorrow, Saturday 18th January, to experience 'Members of The Sixteen' performing choral masterpieces, Renaissance anthems, spirituals, contemporary part-songs and popular tunes.

We cannot wait to listen to this extraordinary vocal ensemble who are visiting Jersey for the first time! They are performing a family matinee at 3.00pm and an evening concert at 7.30pm, both at St Helier Methodist Church.

Under the direction of Eamonn Dougan, the concert will open with Mozart's dynamic Overture to La Clemenza di Tito, one of his final masterpieces. With its elegance and dramatic flair, this overture will transport you straight into the brilliance of the classical era.

We’re thrilled that the incredible Boris Brovtsyn will perform Mendelssohn’s beloved Violin Concerto. Known for its seamless transitions and heartfelt melodies, this concerto is a jewel of the violin repertoire.

After the interval, prepare to be charmed by Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4. Known for its warmth and humor, this symphony is a delightful showcase of Beethoven’s lighter, more playful side. A true gem of the classical repertoire, the 4th Symphony offers a vibrant contrast to Beethoven’s more intense works — guaranteed to leave you uplifted and inspired.

🎻 Boris Brovtsyn has established himself as one of the most profound and versatile musicians of his generation. He is in ever-increasing demand all around the world as both concerto soloist and chamber musician. His repertoire includes over fifty violin concertos and hundreds of chamber works, some of which he premiered.

Happy faces, amazing musical memories! 🤩 Young musicians at Springfield School Jersey, St Saviour's School, Jersey, St Clement's School Jersey and Bel Royal School having the time of their lives at music workshops part of Music in Action's outreach programme this November during the International Guitar Festival. Harriet Mackenzie and Meerkat the virtuoso violinist tell us they too had a fantastic time and loved working together!

🥁 We cannot wait to return to these schools and all the others we visited for more musical fun very soon! We are currently working on the outreach programme for our next Jersey Sings. So, watch this space!

The 2024 International Guitar Festival wrapped up on Saturday 9th November with two incredible concerts!
Violinist Harriet Mackenzie and guitarist Carlos Bonell performed an eclectic program at the beautiful St. Lawrence Parish Church, Jersey, blending Spanish works with Carlos’s own compositions. In the evening, Vicki Genfan impressed the audience with her unique Slap-tap techniques and creative tunings along with her own warm lyrics.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported Music in Action's outreach work in schools and care homes!
