Mark Archer — the man behind Altern 8.
A true UK rave icon, Mark Archer exploded into the charts in 1991 with Altern 8 and the Top 3 anthem Activ-8 (Come With Me) — turning the unlikely town of Stafford into the centre of UK dance music. Chemical suits, dust masks, air horns and pure rave energy made Altern 8 a global phenomenon, with chart hits, Top of the Pops appearances and their legendary album Full-On Mask Hysteria.

With a career spanning 38 years, Archer has been behind some of the most influential names in dance music — Bizarre Inc, Nexus 21, Slo Moshun, Trackman, Xen Mantra, DJ Nex — shaping rave, techno and hardcore from the inside. His book The Man Behind The Mask cemented his legacy, and his Boiler Room sets have been watched hundreds of thousands of times.

Today, Mark Archer continues to pack out festivals and raves worldwide — Glastonbury, Boomtown, Shindig, Mucky Weekender, EDC Vegas and more — whether as Altern 8 (Live PA), a solo DJ, or b2b with the biggest names in the scene.
